Since I wrote I have now received a paper copy from France, which, once signed and certified, I can scan and upload to my French pension account.

I had to do this every year for my mums German pension.

If you can do it online even better.

That's annoying. In the future it would be worth making a photocopy of the original document before sending, and do you send it recorded delivery? costs more but again worth doing as gives added weight if you have to try and prove it has been sent.

Yes, I do mine online now. I can download the form from my account and print it off. I get the Town Clerk to sign it at the council offices, scan it and email it back to France.

In future Buzzydent I would ask if you can email it to them. I send ours this way so I keep the copy.

I used to sign these sometimes as a GP. Could you ask your GP to do a letter saying you are still alive? They will charge you a fee but it shouldnt be too much.

I'm back living in the UK but have a small pension from france the local council did a letter for me but they want their document but won't send me a replacement computer says no

Although we now live in the UK we get two pensions from The Netherlands as my DH worked there. Each year we have to prove to the pension provider that we are still alive.
In many countries in Europe it is possible to go to the council where they have records of births, deaths etc but not here. We have to go to a solicitor.

Well you learn something everyday I ve never been asked to prove I m alive apart from my various certificates ( birth or passport ) when doing something official
Is this because you re living overseas from your normal country of residence ? If so could you get proof from your embassy or solicitor taking relevant certificates to them.

We get ours from our solicitor annually. I am sure a letter from your solicitor will do.
