Does SP dates alter all the time?

Your pension is paid 4 weekly always on the same day, mine is a Wednesday. It’s linked in to your birthday . Once a year you get paid two payments in one month, not always the same month each year because of the 4 weeks rolling timing rather than a calendar month payment.

Sorry, I can’t think why.

Cabbie21 thank you for your info..am still unsure why my payment was made so early ..being mid month payment; usually after 26th when Direct Debits due..very confused

If due to be paid on a Monday, it will be paid in advance when Monday is a Bank Holiday.

I opted to get mine weekly! Money in my account every week.

The June payment was less as was explained in letter they take into account on the date of actual birthday so SP was less and totally understandable. Both July and August payments were identical and this 16th September payment same.
Greyduster thanks for letting me know you received SP earlier ...just thought 10days earlier was strange and maybe a little bit too early. .but less anxious now smile

Mine is not usually paid until the end of the month, but was put into my bank a few days ago. I did wonder why.

My first payment was 4th May (just a small amount) then 3 weeks later a full payment and now 4 weekly. Seemingly when you first start getting SP it depends where you NI number falls in the payment cycle.

Jaxjacky have rechecked my bank statement and July and August were 26th but then September it was 16th so thats why am querying this as it was 3 weeks not 4..just don't want to have to pay anything back later...am a very anxious personconfused

Your state pension is paid every four weeks, not monthly, would that explain it?
Or, perhaps you’re were initially underpaid and this was a ‘catch up’ payment.

What is SP ?

Bea65 Sat 24-Sept-22 12:13:11

Hi, as a new SP of 3 months, my SP this month dropped mid month instead of end of month. Is this normal or, should I be concerned? Do the dates change each month...not a very good system if it does...
