Whoop, whoop, I won £100 and hubby won £175. Have you checked yours? Good Luck.

We have a thousand pounds bought in the eighties and ten pounds left in 1960 after saving up to get married. Won a couple of small amounts and not expecting anything else. We haven’t put more in as we have everything else in joint names in order to make the inevitable easier to manage.

I have three bought in the 1960s, perhaps I should take them out, give them a rub and the Premium Bond Genie may appear!

Yes, but is it a special one for a big win? Like the glitter falling from the ceiling if you get to £1m on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Sadly I don't know the answer to that one.

Doodle dog the picture that comes up first if you are winner varies. It is always something happy like a child grinning, fireworks or sunshine and ice cream. I love opening the app every month. Just £25 this month but a win is a win!

There is no reason why you shouldn't win a biggie, Lovetopaint. If you can win a small prize it shows that you can win a large one, as every bond has the same chance. You probably won't win as often as someone with the full amount, but each of your bonds has the same chance of winning a million as each of theirs.

I tell myself this every month, anyway grin

Thank you. What a cheery post to start my day. We actually think of our bonds as stuck at the bottom or worn out by Ernie !!!!

I won nothing this month but DH won £175.00. Reverse of last month!
I love going on the app the morning of the draw, it’s really exciting seeing that lovely picture appear if you’ve won anything. I pause it for a small moment and say a little prayer hoping it’s a big one! No such luck yet….

It’s usually the 8th of the month when your prize/s appear in your bank account.

annsixty Fri 03-Feb-23 22:25:12

It takes several days to reach your account crazyH

Happy £100 here. Nothing fir Mr C though who is definitely sulking grin.

Doodledog Fri 03-Feb-23 20:07:13

Might it have been reinvested, crazyH?

crazyH Fri 03-Feb-23 19:45:45

Strangely, I just went online and it showed £25 in Feb - but it is not showing in my bank account. Not a life changing but it’s nice to win something

Maggiemaybe Fri 03-Feb-23 19:40:00

You can also ask Alexa to tell you what you’ve won. She makes every £25 sound like a life-changing win.

Doodledog Fri 03-Feb-23 15:29:09

That's what I do. It's quite exciting. Sadly I've never had a big win, so don't know whether the picture they show you on the 'You've Won!' screen is different if that happens.

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Feb-23 14:37:35

You can get an app on your phone and/or tablet, access is by a PIN number to find out immediately.

Lizbethann55 Fri 03-Feb-23 14:06:58

I have received an email saying I have won a prize this month. I have to log onto my account to see how much. I haven't done it yet. It will probably be £25 but until I actually look and find out, I can dream that it is a million!🤑🤑🤑🤑🤣🤣

Maudi Fri 03-Feb-23 10:53:28

Don't think I've won anything this month although if you win £25 they usually only let you know by email on the 5th so fingers crossed. My husband has withdraw his money and put it in a 1 year interest bond now the interest rates have gone up.

Has anyone ever won a big prize? How do they let you know by phone? I'd probably think it was a scam if I got a phone call 😊

Largolass Fri 03-Feb-23 08:23:04

£375 for me so I’m very happy. Usually have at least one win each month.

Bellasnana Fri 03-Feb-23 06:00:31

Just got the email to say I’ve won £100! Last month it was £350 so I’m well pleased.

Teacheranne Fri 03-Feb-23 01:29:32

I am in the process of inheriting some money from my mum, we are just waiting for probate to sell her house and shares and to access her savings accounts. I’ve decided to put the maximum amount into Premium Bonds for a year to see if I can get more returns than I’d get from a savings account.

I’ve already received £20k as my share of an insurance policy that paid on her death and did not form part of her estate so I put that windfall into bonds in November. It’s been in two draws and I’ve won £25 each time - will need to win more to equal the interest in a savings account but still ten months to go!

I hope that with max holdings I’ll win more, I find it quite exciting to look online each month!

My financial advisor was not as keen obviously, he would rather I invest more through him but after the losses investments made last year, I’m not really sure what to do. Hopefully the market will settle down by next year!

harrigran Thu 02-Feb-23 22:46:55

I won £25 this month, on average I win about £650 a year, always better than my bank interest.

think we'd all welcome a visit! grin

I'm sure we'd all be delighted grin

Does anyone know what Agent Million does if she arrives when the winner is not alone? The article says she advises people not to tell family or friends, but how do you keep it secret if they are there when she arrives?

People might want to use the money to get out of an abusive relationship, for instance, but if the abuser is there when the agent arrives, that won't work. Or what if they wanted to buy a dream present for their spouse, who is sitting next to them when the agent comes to the door?

It's a lovely idea, and AM is very welcome to call at my house, but unless I'm missing something it seems a bit of a clumsy way to break the news.

crazyH Thu 02-Feb-23 22:28:38

Same as Charleygirl
I never receive an email. I checked after seeing this thread.

Charleygirl5 Thu 02-Feb-23 22:20:05

I won £25 this month- I had expected more because the rate has been raised. Fewer £25 and more £50 etc. Still, it is better than nothing.

I never receive an email to tell me I have won. If I did not look online each month I would be none the wiser.
