Whoop, whoop, I won £100 and hubby won £175. Have you checked yours? Good Luck.

It’s usually the 8th of the month when your prize/s appear in your bank account.

I won nothing this month but DH won £175.00. Reverse of last month!
I love going on the app the morning of the draw, it’s really exciting seeing that lovely picture appear if you’ve won anything. I pause it for a small moment and say a little prayer hoping it’s a big one! No such luck yet….

We have a thousand pounds bought in the eighties and ten pounds left in 1960 after saving up to get married. Won a couple of small amounts and not expecting anything else. We haven’t put more in as we have everything else in joint names in order to make the inevitable easier to manage.

There is no reason why you shouldn't win a biggie, Lovetopaint. If you can win a small prize it shows that you can win a large one, as every bond has the same chance. You probably won't win as often as someone with the full amount, but each of your bonds has the same chance of winning a million as each of theirs.

I tell myself this every month, anyway grin

Thank you. What a cheery post to start my day. We actually think of our bonds as stuck at the bottom or worn out by Ernie !!!!

Doodle dog the picture that comes up first if you are winner varies. It is always something happy like a child grinning, fireworks or sunshine and ice cream. I love opening the app every month. Just £25 this month but a win is a win!

Doodledog Sat 04-Feb-23 14:55:44

Yes, but is it a special one for a big win? Like the glitter falling from the ceiling if you get to £1m on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Sadly I don't know the answer to that one.

I have three bought in the 1960s, perhaps I should take them out, give them a rub and the Premium Bond Genie may appear!

I used to have £6 worth, a £5 and a £1 bond, bought for me on the day they went on sale in 1956. smile

I hung onto them until a couple of years ago, because I would have loved that £1 bond to appear on the list of big winners one day. I had to let them go though, as every time you cash in any bonds it’s either a quick click to cash the oldest, or a two page form to fill in to choose particular ones.

I do still have the paper bonds though - they’re quite attractive, I might stick them in a frame. smile

I must admit, every time I see a bond on the big winners list from before the 1980s, I wonder if the holder’s still with us to collect it……

I've just come in to find a nice little £500 cheque. Thank you Ernie!

pensionpat Sat 04-Feb-23 18:17:41

And I think you’ve won this thread! Well done.

dragonfly46 Sat 04-Feb-23 18:32:58

Hey well done Kim I have never won that much.

I just found a premium bond that I bought way back in 1966 for one pound. If it ever won anything since 1985 when we emigrated Ernie wouldn’t have found me to break the good news. I’m just curious to know if you grans have lots of premium bonds therefore increasing the odds of win or does a one pound have a chance of a win.🤔

Doodledog Thu 02-Mar-23 16:45:57

Every pound has as much chance as any other pound, so the odds are the same for everyone, but obviously someone with 50,000 tickets has more chance of one of her tickets coming up than someone with one.

I won £100 this month.

Kim19 Thu 02-Mar-23 16:47:29

£125 for me. Nice one!

joannapiano Thu 02-Mar-23 16:48:51

DH got 2x£100, I got £25. The reverse of last month. I am thinking of investing in a few more bonds.

PoppyFlower Thu 02-Mar-23 16:55:03

£200 Yay!! smile

DanniRae Thu 02-Mar-23 17:31:40

Just checked ....... £125!! grin

Justwidowed Thu 02-Mar-23 18:33:18

Ernie smiled at me two £50 and a £1000.I'm smiling as well.

Charleygirl5 Thu 02-Mar-23 18:37:50

I won £125 today, I think my biggest win to date but I am not complaining even £25 is better in my bank account.
