Yep takes years, I was involved in one as a professional witness.
Took years in the end to come to a conclusion. He didn't win.

Anyone going down this road should be aware that it’s not a quick process. It can take years to bring a case to conclusion.

There always has been clinical negligence and there always will be. We live in a far more litigious society than ever before though.

As others have said, sadly, this is a daily occurence now in the NHS due to lack of funding, lack of staff and lack of government support.

My mother was very lucky she had my SiL to advocate for her in her terminal illness, although despite that, she was still in receipt of some shoddy care.

I agree with Greyduster. Don't rely on anecdote. Find a law firm which specialises in clinical negligence.

Look for someone with the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation.

I would look at payouts from that trust and see who was involved. At least they will know the trust.
