Has anyone recently used a solicitor for changing names on the land register and probate and how much was you charged? Thanks

When my husband died last summer, I didn’t need probate and all that was required was a death certificate to change the deeds into my sole name.
It depends completely on the Will. DH left everything to me, so no problem…
Good luck.

Oh, and it was free. I only spoke to the Land registry people.

Buttercup, a few days ago you were asking about a life interest left in a will. Therefore I’m not sure you are just looking at a simple change of name following a death, however you didn’t reply to my questions so I really don’t know your situation. You need to tell us more, but on the basis of what you asked before it sounds as if you do need a solicitor. Nobody can predict what they might charge as it depends on who they are and what you actually need.
