As there's quite a few retired teachers on GN just thought I'd mention a recent discovery on my employment record on the Teachers Pension Scheme website. Like most people I always assumed everything would be correctly recorded regarding my years in service, after all I had only ever worked for two different local authorities and three schools with only one break in service after my second child was born. When I retired the list of years seemed correct and I didn't look into small detail.
Having recently gone onto their website to check my P60 I decided to have a quick look at my employment record (DD and I had recently been chatting about how long I had taught). I was astonished to see within the list another missing service record, previously not showing up in the list of dates I had checked 9 years ago.
I knew I had been teaching full time that year and had even been on a temporary promoted post for that period.
Fortunately my LA had my employment record from 20 years ago ( many do not) and the matter is now in the process of being corrected.
Check your records all you teachers out there, I can't be the only one.
