If you have been affected by banks closing your account then you might like to sign up to this today.

Nigel Farage has launched this today and it’s non political and for individuals and small businesses.

He’s on an attention seeking roll

Oh my God, he does a very good thing and still you have to pour your vitriol..

BottleFish Sun 03-Aug-25 10:09:39

I wonder if the people in this article will sign up:

I wouldn't think so. Many dislike and don't use our banking systems, they use sharia friendly ones. No profits allowed, would imagine that is where interest is paid. Why are you trying to be so devisive.

Update in the interests of accurate up-to-date information: there is now a cookies option. It does not allow one to reject all cookies.

There is still no information, it’s still just data collection.

siope has already said this.

And she is saying it again. So am I.

I don't "hate" Farage, but I don't trust him either,

Reposting *Siope's post (which is of course, as she says in her next post, for information only. And, also for information: you can report the site for its legal breaches to the Information Commissioner.

Conveniently, if you are looking for actual information on data access requests and how to submit one, the Information Commission site has detailed information (unlike Farage’s)

I'm not a brain dead opposer but a cautious and thoughtful one.

I would NOT subscribe to an organisation set up by any politician right or left who has a strong political agenda.

We need a consumer rights based organisation and one set up carefully, and most definitely inclusive.

I agree. Not just for banking, but to protect against unscrupulous companies who get little attention from existing legislation because of lack of regulation. It should be politically neutral and speak for consumers.

The site breaks both direct marketing and GDPR law, by not offering cookie options and by not offering an opt-out to marketing.

The Terms and Conditions spell out that information in the site (not that there is any, except about purported partners) may not be accurate and they accept no liability for that.

I also wonder why they have chosen to be an unincorporated association, a model which provides no legal protection to or the purported partners, and, far more importantly, one which is unregulated and unaccountable.

It does offer cookie options.

I think you’re confused as to why expats could no longer have a uk bank account.
To make it simple for you, everyone who had their bank account closed in this this country was mainly for personal reasons.
The reason expats could no longer have a bank account in the uk is because it’s no longer possible financially. We cut the ties that made that possible.

It wasn't all banks; we still have our account as do many others, so he could still try to discover why some banks found it necessary.
But yes, my post was a little tongue in cheek. 😂

It hasn't affected us, but I do hope that all the British in the EU who have had bank accounts closed because of Brexit are the first to sign up. I am sure he will give them his undivided attention. 🤔

I read in the Sunday Times that , according to his biographer,"He's desperate for the limelight -if a day goes by when he's not doing radio or television he probably feels there's a big hole in his life.GB News are lapping it up and this story is dominating most of its programmes. It's hit a chord with the public. Even amongst people who don't like Farage's politics, they recognise something's gone wrong here from a civil liberties point of view "

Nigel Farage is attention-seeking, as per normal.

He’s the only one who is prepared to try and get this sorted though for the thousands of people who are affected. Bet you would be pleased if you were in that situation that he has bothered.
