Any Gnetters on here affected by the "Home Responsibilities' Protection" Historical errors.

I am pretty sure I am one of them. (awaiting the letter in the post) maybe it will be delayed like my other letter when I rang last year about the situation and was to receive a letter within 10 days hmm.

I have not been receiving a full state pension, I just assumed I had not enough contributions having not worked due to looking after dh. (seeing as though I heard nothing else from them)

But apparently there has been Historical Errors where some pensioners (many have probably died according to HMR) without receiving their correct pension and now the families have to contact HMR.

Of course the bottom line from HMR is that any pension owing or any refunds will of course be taxable and will be deducted.

Maybe I will hang on to book that cruise down the Thames grin Watch this space.

I’m not sure if I am one. I do remember ringing while I was still working but I was told because I was born between January and April 1948 I couldn’t buy back ‘stamps’. So I am waiting and hoping, perhaps I’ll join you on your cruise! grin

I was told the same Midgey and I don’t believe I had any correspondence from them to advise me about buying extra extra years. I live in Hope!

Looks like a threesome down the Thames then lol.,

What is strange is, I logged onto my Gov,gateway account this morn just to check.
I had looked about 3 months ago and saw I had a lot of missing years! I have logged on this morning and unless I am imagining things some of them have now been altered to "full years" hmm.

If you go onto Gov.website type in " HRP" it will come up with a page with the information on about when and what year you started to claim your pension. (you don't need to have a Gov gateway account to read this)

I have tried to ring Pensions this morning but they just direct you to the Website. I suppose they are quite busy sorting all this lot out.

If you have a Gov gateway you can log into that.

I rang up this time last year as when I re read my pension letter, right at the bottom (I almost missed it)

It stated that I/me! had informed them that I had not! claimed family allowance as it was named then, between the years 19xx and 19xx when in fact of course I had as that is when I had my children.

So there is deff something amiss. Mind you by the time it is sorted and they have taken their cut, it could be that it will be a rowing boat rather than a cruiser lol.
