Sounds like you'd be entitled to take your case to the Financial Ombudsman: www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumers/complaints-can-help/banking-and-payments

Thankyou for your suggestions. I will follow them up.

"Did it state what would happen if you miss the cut off date? Maybe you forfitted the money."

I was informed that I could reclaim the money online or by writing and it would be refunded to a bank of my choosing within 15 days. I did both, but heard nothing from either.

Write to the CEO. I did this with 02 with success.
Actually sent an email. I had an acknowledgement.I
Then a call from a member of the CEO team who immediately resolved my issue.

With AIB Bank I rang ( asked to be transferred to) the complaints dept. Then followed it up with an email confirming the conversation and the facts. I also suggested they listen to the phone recordings of my conversations when I was given wrong information several times. The sorted it and gave me £200 by way of apology.

Move up the chain.

Look at Martin Lewis’s website. I’m sure he has advice on this.

Barclays Bank closed my UK account because I do not live in the UK. I was unable to withdraw my money prior to the cut-off date and have tried to reclaim it online and by Express snail mail, twice, and have sent all the necessary signed documents all to no avail. I have phoned several times and been told "the team" would get back to me, but they don't. Does anyone know how I can reclaim my money as I am at my wit's end with this and it's been going on since October last year?
