Power of Attorneys.

This is what it says on www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney/changes-you-need-to-report

"You must tell OPG if you or your attorney changes name and send a copy of the marriage certificate or deed poll that shows the new name. Do not send any original documents"

You must tell OPG if you or your attorney changes address, but you do not need to send any supporting documents."

Not sure about that. It used to just be a letter. After all, it's your PoA

Think you would have to send a copy of their marriage certificate as proof that they have changed surnames . You may be charged . Best ask Citizens advice.

Can you send a letter to the The Office of the Public Guardian as they used to be happy to put a letter (to sit alongside the PoA) stating the name change. So long as you are of sound mind. You could write to them and see what they say.

I don't have up-to-date knowledge. Just what used to be possible.

Can I just ask if anyone can help withe following question:-
My wife and I are Tenents in Common to our current property and we also have Power of Attorneys to our two children. The Power of Attorneys are in our children's maiden names. As they are both now married with different surnames do we have to have them legally changed or are they still acceptable in their maiden surnames?
