It would do no harm to shop around Grammaretto and wouldn’t take long to see if your new premium is competitive or is over inflated, because of your claim.

I had a major claim 18mths ago (mid-range five digit amount) and expected my premiums to increase dramatically but surprisingly, they haven’t. That’s with Aviva. I will say they were awful to deal with at the time but we don’t seem have been penalised so I’ve stuck with them.

Now I’m 76 annual travel insurance is by far the largest cost of my home insurance, look at what’s included and shop around

Any claim, even if it didn't proceed, runs the risk of higher premiums.

That said the insurance companies can hike it up even if you have never made a claim!

It is common practice in the industry and they expect you to look around and a getter cheaper quote elsewhere. Sometimes it is the same umbrella company too!

Mine is die in a few weeks too so I will shop around, though my car insurance is actually going to be cheaper...

It's all a bit of a mystery really...

I didn’t think they paid out for God given problems ie weather
I expect that’s what’s hiked it up
I always check out other Companies each year you don’t really get rewarded for loyalty

I had a claim for storm damage last year which was eventually paid.
Would this be the reason for the huge price hike or have insurance premiums gone up everywhere?
Should I cast around for another quote?
