With the Rachel Reeves budget coming up soon, are there things people should be doing to help their own finances?

There seem to be different things being reported each day as to what might be on the Budget?
I assume people dont know for sure yet.

But I just read for example, that something like £11billion has been taken out of work pensions because people believe there will be some sort of tax increase? I didnt read the article fully and I dont think it applies to me.

Thinking as I am writing, perhaps I ought to read Mumsnet to see what others are doing?

Maybe nobody is going to say?! Even if they are doing it. smile.

I think people are taking money out of pensions as it’s rumoured pension funds may be included in inheritance tax, I believe I’ve read that correctly.

One gets to the age that Financial Planning is no longer really relevant.
I get a State pension and a pension from my late H.
Very few investments now as I am so old that investments and capital becomes eroded when large bills etc arise.
I have a reasonable sized house but to sell and downsize now seems like a very large mountain to climb so it won’t be done.
Therefore I have to leave any planning on the shelf and hope that rises in taxes in various forms are not too high and I can carry on as normal.

We have already taking all our tax free allowances from our pensions.

Now looking at Trusts etc., to future proof for us and family.

So many pitfalls with Trusts. Take advice from Tax Accountant and STEP solicitor.

Yes, I think I’m past the planning stage too.

I just wish I could sell my little house I moved out of and stupidly let.

Now it’s going to be even harder🙁
