Martin Lewis says the best time to get quotes for insurance is 21 days before renewal. I have just done that. However the cheapest were purely online companies, apart from a claims number, and had poor reviews for customer service.
So I checked a few more, and settled on one which has excellent reviews and is high on the Which Best Car Insurance list. It still cost less than the renewal price from my existing insurer.

Being a loyal customer counts for very little when it comes to all kinds of insurance these days. We had to renew the insurance for our motorhome recently, and the premium had increased substantially. Went online, did a comparison and got the same level of cover for half of what our existing insurers wanted. It definitely pays to check and compare when your renewal comes in - whether that's for car insurance, home insurance, travel insurance, pet insurance etc.

Being a loyal customer have been with same company a long time, however just browsing on line paying 3 weeks in advance it is £120 cheaper than last years premium and It is 5 star rating too.
