Why is straightforward English beyond them? Were they deliberately invented to be utterly thick? I cite Santander's 'Sandi' - God save us if 'Sandi' is an example of the future.

Be helpful with some content, no idea what difficulty you have had, I don’t think anyone likes the ‘helpful’ bots , but I just ask for a human and usually get one fairly quickly.
They are only there to try and take the heat away from the humans, I guess, some quick questions might be answered but on the whole I don’t find them a good substitute.

I have also been a victim of Sandi. No help whatsoever.

My Nat West phone bot couldn't tell me what time a particular branch was actually open!
It was so long "redirecting" me to the internet that I just gave up.

They are useless- just designed to give the company more time before it has to engage with the disgruntled public.

If you are persistent with the system though it will eventually get you to a person, it just takes a bit more time...

I had a problem with a scam website some time ago, and the bot helped me to get my money back in a refund from the bank. I liked it, as I had a record of the conversations. It took a few days, as I had to wait to see if the site would refund me (that didn't happen as it was a scam) and it was useful to be able to refer back to what had been agreed the last time we 'spoke'.
