Are there any Gransnetters in the Suffolk/Essex area who would be interested in meeting up for lunch????

moomin Sun 06-May-12 18:24:12

glassortwo I'm in the Tyne Valley, moved here last year. Yes numberplease it's certainly a beautiful county, albeit a bit on the chilly side wink - but I'm gradually acclimatising!

specki4eyes I would love to meet up in Gourdon but I have local commitments and then family and couldnt make it until after 14th June. Send me a PM. I hope you are as settled in France as I am. Regards.

moomin the Tyne Valley is not far away from me, we are living at Chopwell with DD and family while we refurbish a farmhouse up in East Woodburn. smile

moomin Sun 06-May-12 20:44:40

glassortwo Aah, Chopwell Woods - a favourite walking spot! Looks like you are heading out into the wilds at East Woodburn - don't know that area well but I can empathise with the "refurbishing", having done it a few times myself in the past and we are doing some conversion work within our house this year, can't say I'm looking forward to the upheaval sad

ME!! not Boston but not that far down the road

glassortwo Sun 06-May-12 21:07:04

numberplease Sun 06-May-12 22:51:00

Glassortwo, we are coming to a caravan site just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed, it`s called Chain Bridge. We have been to Northumberland a couple of times before, stayed at Seahouses, nice little place. Looking forward to paying another visit to Lindisfarne.

glassortwo Mon 07-May-12 16:40:04

Hi merlotgran! I live between Cambridge and Ely! Think we're the only grans from around Cambridge on here.

MaggieP Thu 24-May-12 09:02:02

What about King's Lynn ?

absentgrana Thu 24-May-12 09:07:40

I'm in Darlington – a short train ride from Newcastle, Durham and York, as well as various coastal towns. I'd love to meet up with other north-eastern grannies for lunch, tea, a glass of wine or whatever, so long as we can have a good long chat. smile

glassortwo Thu 24-May-12 13:33:46

absent I would love to meet up with you.

merlotgran Sun 27-May-12 13:28:07

Only an hour from here MaggieP.

MaggieP Sun 27-May-12 15:44:55

So merlotgran and GrannyHaggis, Ely sounds a good place for a meeting, pub lunch by the river, what do you think.?
Maybe there are a few others lurking nearby also.....smile wine

Annobel Sun 27-May-12 16:22:04

You lot are making me nostalgic for Norfolk. Almost 30 years since we left King's Lynn but I did have a good life there.

jeni Sun 27-May-12 16:30:45

My son lives close to Ely (I think) a place called witchend, very appropiate as he's a pagan!

merlotgran Sun 27-May-12 16:38:51

Sounds lovely, MaggieP The Cutter in Ely would be a good bet. Or somewhere nearer to you if you don't want to drive so far... Downham Market?

merlotgran Sun 27-May-12 16:58:21

Do you mean Witchford or Witcham, jeni? I don't know of anywhere called Witchend but I know a pagan and very good fun he is too.

jeni Sun 27-May-12 17:03:01

Is his name Jon?
