The NEXT NW meet-up?

Grannylin we have a late January baby due, too. If you can make it, you'll be able to bring photos of the new arrival to share. We're looking at 15/16/17 February.

Got a Didsbury baby due end of January so will watch this thread just in case it's late-I'll make it one day

Where in Wilmslow is it and how often? I can't do tomorrow though but it sound interesting. Not that I ever remember to go to the excellent farmers market 2 miles away.

Been there once or twice, Ella. I think I got there after the best stuff (and the Wags) had gone! Might have another look tomorrow when I go to the gym.

Plenty of wannabee wags, and very flashy footballers' passion wagons here, parked all over the pavements where we plebs dare to walk!

My little corner of Cheshire isn't footballers' wives' territory, though apparently at one time Cristiano Ronaldo lived here - with his mother! But I often have lunch in Prestbury which is Rooney territory, I think.

ga yes, that's right - the little prefabs were homes for fairies well I'm not telling her!

I might be in Cheshire but its too near Stoke on Trent to be that posh. Alderley Edge is the place to be! It full of footballers wives and Gangsters.

I used to travel along Princess Parkway on the 105 bus into town, past where the fairies live in their miniature houses at Hough End - well that's what my grandad told me and he was too nice a man to ever lie to me. Are the fairies still there? They used to grow fruit and vegetables and their gardens looked very similar to my allotment...........

Yes anno unfortunately I can't turn up Princess Parkway without some twit in a Ferrari cutting me up on his way to the training ground.

You speak for your part of the NW, when. Cheshire is reputed to have the greatest proportion of private swimming pools to population in England. Of course it's where the over-paid footballers and their Wags set up home and we do have a lot of premiership clubs in this part of the country, don't we?

The north-west is that bit of the country where we eat tripe and black pudding whilst sitting in the tin bath (we do have to tip the coal out first!)

Of course, I do come from the South West myself - SW Scotland, that is.

Manchester is where we are talking about! Not as far Northwest as you could go though! There is always Sutherland in North West Scotland! Then probably the Isle of Lewis in the outer Hebrides!

For those southeners who think that The North starts at the Watford Gap!! You had better come equipped with your coal picks, pigeons and Flat Caps. Flat vowels as well might help.

We will serve you Lancashire hot pot for lunch. No Yorkshire pudding though because that would be the North East.

cheelu the north-west region is around Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, up to Cumbria and everywhere in-between. Were you thinking of a region closer to where you live? x

Have just read this thread, I was not inferring that there is no culture up North Nellie, would not do so ,having been born and bred in Scotland. I was just replying to Cheelu, who suggested a London meet up in Trafalgar Square, not seriously I don't think. I would love a meet up anywhere I could get to.
