Now that the year is no longer very 'new', is it time to think about when we can meet up again? What would you say to a date in February? Any takers?

This is the Stable Gate. Parking is easy and it's easy to find, but please do suggest other venues, if you prefer smile

when - how clever of you to find another venue. I like the sound of it and, as you know, it's quite easy for me to get there.
I think this thread for NW meet-up is getting a bit mixed up with North East and South West. Interesting geographical spread and obviously anyone from other regions is more than welcome in the friendly North West. smile

How about a meet up in West Dorset......anyone interested we could chat on Gransnet and maybe all meet up in Weymouth or Poole sometime let me know its easy enough to get to either place even by train......Lillian.

I have had a trawl round on the Internet, and there is a suitable restaurant/pub called the Stable Gate (been there and can recommend), right near the M60 motorway at Denton, which is also convenient for Bags and Sewsilver, being nearer to Derbyshire. It's the same distance for those of us who joined the M60 in the south, you just go in the other direction. It's easy to get there from the M56 and M62 east, but a longer journey for those Gransnetters coming from Liverpool or Blackpool areas, so more suggestions are welcome.

Preferred dates seem to be those when Bags is coming this way, on 15, 16 or 17 February.

We'd like to set a date if possible. Can those north-west Gransnetters who would like to come along let me and anno know if they have preferred dates or venues, please? Anyone who might need a lift from a pick-up point can let us know, and we'll manage between us, I'm sure smile

gillybob Wed 09-Jan-13 22:30:53

glassortwo Wed 09-Jan-13 10:30:29

Isorod it would be lovely to see you at one of the Newcastle meetings if you can make it. smile

isorod Wed 09-Jan-13 10:14:51

Thank you whenin64 I will look out for further details.

whenim64 Tue 08-Jan-13 20:14:37

Yes, of course, isorod. It's going to be a challenge to find somewhere mutually convenient for those Gransetters coming from further afield. The Trafford Centre's Coach House has been ideal for most of us, but we appreciate that some would like their journey to be shortened. Please do make suggestions, everyone.

isorod Tue 08-Jan-13 19:56:30

I understand from Lara you had a successful meet up last year,is there room for one more? I would be interested in joining you. I live in Northumberland - west of Newcastle and would be traveling by train. I have been a member of Gransnet since it began and hopefully will be up and running as a local organiser in the next few weeks.
Would love to join you if that is acceptable.

annodomini Tue 08-Jan-13 18:16:05

Anyone got any ideas about a venue accessible by public transport in or around Manchester? Somewhere where they would let us hang around chatting most of the afternoon?

Bags Tue 08-Jan-13 17:42:42

I will probably be carless so a venue that is gettable at by public transport would be good.

whenim64 Tue 08-Jan-13 14:31:58

Our posts crossed Bags. It would be good to see you again smile

whenim64 Tue 08-Jan-13 14:30:46

Yes, me! I'm looking forward to another get-together. Do we need to look at another central venue for those Gransnetters who had quite a long drive to get to the Trafford Centre? Also grannyactivist might have a potential date for coming this way again, as we missed her by a few days last time.

Bags Tue 08-Jan-13 14:30:37

Planning to be down that way in the middle of Feb. It would be nice to see people. 15/16/17 any good?
