Now that the year is no longer very 'new', is it time to think about when we can meet up again? What would you say to a date in February? Any takers?

MayBeMaw Wed 20-Oct-21 17:53:28

After 8 years! I wonder how many who were there are still on GN?
Sadly Greatnan and Maniac are no longer with us sad

Jaye53 Wed 20-Oct-21 16:01:10

Hi anyone able to get to Liverpool for meets

Greatnan Sun 17-Feb-13 08:56:22

I am glad you enjoyed yourselves - even though I could not be with you!

whenim64 Fri 15-Feb-13 15:01:01

Just back from a happy, chatty lunch with anno, Sewsilver and Grammar. We sat at a sunny bay window table whilst we had a lovely lunch, and exchanged our news, photos of grandchildren, and ideas about local Gransnet, as Grammar will be running the Chester site. Good to meet up, and we'll do it again soon, maybe further west/north, so more Gransnetters will have chance to join in smile

annodomini Thu 14-Feb-13 20:53:02

Of course! It'll be good to see you. Till then!

Sewsilver Thu 14-Feb-13 20:44:45

A change of plan means I could join you all tomorrow after all. Is it ok to come
At such short notice? Be good to see you all

whenim64 Thu 14-Feb-13 14:46:32

Hope we'll see you next time we meet up Seasider. I'll be visiting your Blackpool Gransnet site now you're up and running. smile

seasider Thu 14-Feb-13 13:17:53

hi When . Sorry won't be able to come tomorrow. It was always doubtful but now I have broken a crown on my tooth and dentist can see me 10.15 tomorrow I think the venue is about an hour and a half away so I won't get there in time plus I expect they will tell me not to eat on it for a while! Hope you have a good time and I look forward to the next meet-up.

hummingbird Wed 13-Feb-13 20:56:32

Not sure - never done it that way. I'll check it out x

whenim64 Tue 12-Feb-13 20:39:44

Oh, that's a shame, Hummngbird. Is it any shorter coming over Runcrn bridge and down the M56 to join the M60 before Stockport?

hummingbird Tue 12-Feb-13 19:55:37

Hi, I've looked up the venue, and it's almost an hour and a half away for me, so I think I'll pass this time, and see you all next time. Enjoy! sad

whenim64 Tue 12-Feb-13 12:09:53

See you on Friday Grammar smile

Grammar Tue 12-Feb-13 12:00:07

Thank you for the directions. Looking forward to meeting you.

whenim64 Tue 12-Feb-13 10:41:38

Rosiebee looking forward to seeing you grin

Rosiebee Tue 12-Feb-13 10:35:40

Have checked website link and also google earthed and multi mapped it. Will set out shortly after breakfast so I will be there on time. Looking forward to seeing everyone. smile

whenim64 Tue 12-Feb-13 10:31:56

This is a clearer map than the one on the link. You have to pass Sainsbury's on your left before you turn left to get to the Stable Gate, and you will see the motorway junction you came from ahead of you, just before you turn left.

Our booking is confirmed for this Friday, 15 February, at the Stable Gate pub and restaurant, Denton, which is just near the M60 motorway, junction 24.

As usual, please can you arrive from 12 onwards, so we can go to our table at 12.30.

The table is booked under the name 'Morton' for approx 8 people.

There are directions and menus on this link.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, and if there are new baby photos, bring 'em to be admired! grin

whenim64 Thu 07-Feb-13 21:35:57

That's good Grammar. Look forward to meeting you.

Maniac there will always be a few of us who are up for a get-together, so just shout out when you're coming this way, and we can meet for lunch if there isn't a get-together planned already smile

Same for Grannylin. Whenever you're coming this way..... smile

Grammar Thu 07-Feb-13 21:08:04

Hi whenim64. It looks as though the 15th is on again. I'm up for that.

Maniac Thu 07-Feb-13 20:39:21

when I've been holding out hoping to make last minute journey to meet you all again..and Bags. But I've just been informed that my two DDs are coming down to Bristol next weekend for their dad's birthday (my ex) and will probably expect to stay at my house..so sadly I can't manage 15th /16th.
Next time maybe..actually Mon is the best day for me travelling up to Macclesfield on the Sun and staying overnight at my DD's home.

whenim64 Thu 07-Feb-13 20:35:17

Greatnan you will be there with us in spirit wine grin

whenim64 Thu 07-Feb-13 20:25:14

We have about 8 or 9 so far grammar, so quite a good number if you want to come along on the 15th. We'll organise another one a few weeks after that.

Greatnan Thu 07-Feb-13 20:23:54

I am so envious - I would love to be with you, but I will be in New Zealand.
I hope you all have a lovely lunch. flowers

whenim64 Thu 07-Feb-13 19:45:37

Hi Grammar we're hoping Seasider will be joining us, so it would be good to have you join us, too. We seem to be growing in number all of a sudden. I think I'd better book a table, after all.

I'll put venue details on here after I've confirmed the booking.

Grammar Thu 07-Feb-13 19:41:16

whenim64 - I've just seen your latest post and would be happy to meet in a few weeks' time instead of 15 Feb if that would be a better opportunity to get people together.
