Thanks. We are aware of the erosion problem and will take that into consideration. We've only just decided to move so are in the very early stages of research. We've just noticed that you get quite a lot of house for your money in Withernsea, so its one of a few ideas.

Does it have to be a coastal town? Be careful in that area because it's Holderness clay and not every part of the coastline is being protected. Some is being allowed to fall into the sea. Have you looked at Hornsea?

My sister likes to visit Withernsea, but I`ve never been, so we decided that we`d go next spring for a few days, but can we find a B & B? Not for love nor money! And my sister can`t help as they`ve never actually stayed over.

Oh I'm used to a dying town (city)., I'm from Coventry, haha. We'll obviously have a good look before buying, anyway. Thanks for replying.

Withernsea doesn't have a particularly good reputation where I live. People would tell you it's a dying town (that's the politest comment). The town started slipping after the train line went in the sixties and never seemed to pull itself back. But this could all be unsubstantiated opinion.

I only really know the seafront area. It's had a lot of money spent on it in the last few years and the prom is very nice but dog walkers don't always clean up their dog's mess so can be a bit iffy. The beach is lovely sand. They are about to spend £4 million on the area used by the the crab fishermen.

We're thinking of moving and are looking at houses in Withernsea. Does anyone know the area? Anything particularly good, or not so good, I should know about? Thanks.
