This morning I joined 6 friends and we have known each other for 65 years. We met when we started prep school and then on to grammar school which I think may well have advertised itself as S******* (easily identifiable) School for Young Ladies. That`s why my parents sent me there to be "turned out able to converse and conduct myself in an appropriate manner" and of course most importantly to attract the man who would become my husband and keep me in the style to which I have been accustomed. Ah those were the days.
Anyway we caught up and the first of us has been widowed, 2 of us have husbands who have suffered life changing illnesses and then on to the more pleasurable topics, our children (adults) and the grandkids. It was a good morning just in case you think it was all a bit mundane we did cover politics, a murder which was commited in a small town where one of lives and other up-to-the- minute issues.
