The weather is great and the Inverary trip is still nearly a month away. Is anyone up for meeting in/near Edinburgh some time in the next week or two?

Elegran Wed 15-Jul-15 11:30:33

And don't speak to any strange men in the park . . .

Marmight Wed 15-Jul-15 11:28:34

Its the Winchburgh tunnel that's being worked on so the direct ones from Queen Street to Waverley are off. You'll be coming on the Helensburgh one so wont see any difference.

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Sat 11-Jul-15 14:58:43

Will make that a booking for 7 and a half then. The delays are only for the trains that would usually go through Croy Jane 10..

Jane10 Sat 11-Jul-15 12:59:45

I'm sure you know this but the Glasgow /Edinburgh trains are taking longer due to rerouting due to ongoing work on the line. Just in case! (I got caught out a while ago when the usual 45min journey took an hour and a half!)

thatbags Sat 11-Jul-15 12:37:30

Yes, do join us, grannyg1 smile.

grannyg1 Sat 11-Jul-15 12:30:06

Could I join you, would be coming through on train from Glasgow?

Marelli Wed 08-Jul-15 16:09:02

I think Marmight and I will be coming by car, so we'll see you there for 1pm. smile

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Wed 08-Jul-15 15:34:28

I will do my best but as The Big Man only really hears from me when I want something doubt that he will oblige.

Jane10 Wed 08-Jul-15 08:59:58

Fine by me too. Can you also arrange for the weather to be nice too please?

Elegran Wed 08-Jul-15 08:37:46

OK for me. See you then.

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Wed 08-Jul-15 08:05:50

That would be good Jane10 I will check with bags first what time she is arriving. I will PM you. I will book ~ 6 (and a half) for 1pm~ ? That OK for everyone

Jane10 Tue 07-Jul-15 21:31:55

Dunit I'll meet you for a walk first if you like? Have you booked or will I?

thatbags Tue 07-Jul-15 21:06:32

If it's a fine day I will walk down. I'll have been sitting for two hours and will be ready for a leg stretch.

Marelli Tue 07-Jul-15 21:05:00

Sounds like a good idea, Elegran. Think our train gets in around the same time as bags'. smile

Elegran Tue 07-Jul-15 20:57:17

There are four from Waverley if I join the trainers there - a taxi will fit four no bother.

Lys60 Tue 07-Jul-15 20:34:35

Trip sounds great but I live too far away. Enjoy!

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Tue 07-Jul-15 20:25:59

I'll go early to get a look around the gardens first and will walk down.

Jane10 Tue 07-Jul-15 19:25:03

I can get myself there via another route. I live quite close to the Botanics. Wd a taxi fit the rest of you in? It would be simpler

Elegran Tue 07-Jul-15 19:01:01

The number 27 goes from Hanover Street, the 8 from the Bridges or from down beside John Lewis (exiting the station via the back way under Waterloo Place gets you down Leith St without going up the Wavrley steps).

None of the buses stop at the West Gate, which is where the restaurant is. They stop in Inverleith Place on the far side, so there is a walk through the gardens. OK if it is not raining. The alternative is a 29, which is just as long a walk, but from a point a few streets away to the southwest - or a taxi to the West Gate.
