I shall be asking for money in the middle of March, but if you want to give it to me earlier I won't refuse it - PM me to ask where to send a cheque, or to get a bank reference for an online transfer.

elegran will check this thread tomorrow if not before and will add you names to the list. Then she's going to set up a payment system for everyone, but there's plenty of time for that.

Here's a copy of a message from elegran explaining details:

After a series of emails to and from the ROSL I have clarified the price structure, and worked out that there is no difference between pricing the things we want and adding them together, and just accepting their "delegate rate" per person, so that is what we will do.

The bad news is that it has gone up since we last did this. It will be £30 per person. For that we do get a great deal:-

Coffee and cake in the morning
Two course sit-down lunch
Coffee and cake in the afternoon
Water and cordials on the tables
Use of a room to ourselves from 10am to 5pm
Hire of a projector and screen (I am now looking for a free speaker for a short talk on an interesting subject. Suggestions welcomed)

Wine at lunch will be up to individuals to order and pay for, and there is a bar just along the corridor, where anyone wanting something stronger than water or cordials throughout the day can buy drinks.

Hi there this is my very first time posting on Gransnet. I would like to come along to the lunch day in April very much. Can anyone tell me how to go about signing up on the list? Thank you

If anyone else is thinking of staying at the ROSL, it would be a good plan to book soon - there is a big AGM on there at the same time as our thing, and some of them may have the same idea.

I am hoping to be staying in Edinburgh on theThursday and Friday nights. Anyone else making a mini break of it?

Would be great to meet up with other Gransnetters but Scotland is rather a long way away....

Looking forward to this. I only hope that the railway bridge is rebuilt by then so that I can come by train. If I have to use the bus, I think it will be too inconvenient. They say that they hope to have rail services running by the beginning of March. Here's hoping!
