Very outside chance here.......Greater Belfast area at all?

I'm in Newcastle too. Planning to go to Edinburgh in April, but I am up for a local meet up as well.

The local sites that are not very active are the ones with no editor. This is a job for a local member and only needs a couple of hours a week. Email GNHQ for details.
Otherwise local members can add anything they like to their local site and make it look lively. It's as easy as posting on here.

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I am about an hour from Newcastle by train so a meetup would be no bother. Down in London st the moment babysitting my GC hence the time of this post as the baby is teething and letting me know! She's now sleeping and I'm wide awake....!

Moved down to just outside Carlisle last yeat Greenfinch and I'm just beginning to settle down in the area. Loving it so far. Not been on GN for ages due to selling/buying house etc - never again!!

Do some of your local sites function well? Our one is mostly dated a couple of years ago. Perhaps we are just very unsociable.

Anyone in Telford? I moved here in September last year after my daughter got a new job here, I look after my three grandchildren who keep me busy but would like to have a grown up conversation sometimes too

Hello grannygreyhips are you new? I am 20 miles from Carlisle in the Tyne Valley. I hardly ever visit Cumbria these days. All my shopping is done in Hexham or Newcastle. I used to work in Woolworths at Carlisle as a Saturday girl in the 1960's, that seems such a long time ago now!!!

I'm almost as far away from you, grannyg, as it is possible to be in the UK! So unless you plan on visiting Plymouth anytime soon, I doubt we'll ever meet. Welcome to GN, hope you make lots of friends here, near and far.
