East Midlands meet up?

Unfortunately the Leicestershire meet up planned for early Spring did not go ahead for a number of reasons. I thought perhaps widening our area and meeting up say in Nottingham or Derby may be more appealing then Leicester as we don't appear to have many members. Anyone interested for some time in the early Summer?

Once again I would like to think I would make it. I have just checked and I would find it easier to get to Nottingham as opposed to Derby as there are no changes and they mither me somewhat now.

Anywhere I can get to by train would suit me better than having to drive, but I'm not ruling that out. I'm easy as to food. The way this year is galloping by, September sounds good.

I'm up for it. I started a thread before Teetime went on her holidays and was going to revive it after she got back. Sorry. I'm not sure this was it but I'm sure people will see this.

I'm happy with anything - I suppose it depends on travel arrangements for those coming from further afield. I could do lifts from a train or bus station.

Can I still be included in East Midlands? I really enjoyed the meet up last year in Jamie's . Lincs Gransnet is trying to arrange a meeting in July but I am not sure I shall be able to make that one.

Ok so are we on for this? How about September 26th (after most holidays)- Leicester or Nottingham?? What kind of venue/food/activity?

Greyduster Mon 12-Jun-17 15:23:37

It did happen and a jolly nice afternoon it was too! I think there was some talk about organising another somewhere, but not sure it got any further.

"A tuesday in Nottingham in September"
is this still happening? Last post was December '16
I would love to meet up with all you lovely GN ladies.

I think if a Meet up us to be arranged, the one arranging it should just choose a modest venue and a date and time and see how many want to come, you cannot cater for everyone's different commitments or nothing gets done. I tried to arrange one once but it just got impossible trying to cater for everyone and I gave up.

Did this happen as I live in Leicester

I`ll just pour myself into a taxi and let the driver find it!

starbird Thu 23-Jun-16 23:33:10

Sounds good

kittylester Thu 23-Jun-16 15:37:24

OK, thanks, I know where M&S is!

Teetime Thu 23-Jun-16 13:54:45

Its in Low Pavement Kitty its a really nice one and they don't mind you lingering at lunchtime on a weekday. You come out of Broadmarsh at the rear or looking the other way its up the side of M & S.

kittylester Thu 23-Jun-16 13:16:30

I love Jamie's - we go to the one in Birmingham given half a chance. Are they ok for lingering? I'm no good at Street names in Nottingham - give me some clues! I know, I'll Google it. grin

Greyduster Thu 23-Jun-16 12:46:18

That would be good for me as it's reasonably near to the coach station smile.

Teetime Thu 23-Jun-16 12:06:43

Yes love Jamie's and they cater for special diets - you can see their menu on line before you go and check it out.

annsixty Thu 23-Jun-16 08:55:55

Jamie's in Nottingham is on low pavement.

kittylester Thu 23-Jun-16 08:51:59

In my diary and I'm not concerned about type of food but would like gf. Is there a Jamie's in Nottingham? If so where? Does anyone think that's good idea?

Greyduster Thu 23-Jun-16 08:49:57

I will eat anything. I don't know Nottingham, only been there once, so I am unable to recommend anywhere I'm afraid.

Teetime Thu 23-Jun-16 08:34:46

OK lets firm it up now - where shall we go? A meal so we can chat- what kind of food do you like?

kittylester Wed 22-Jun-16 21:51:46

And me!

numberplease Wed 22-Jun-16 21:39:27

OK by me

Greyduster Wed 22-Jun-16 19:42:39

Should be okay for me.

Teetime Tue 21-Jun-16 08:44:35

Not a problem I m on holiday that week in Wales- how about 20th September?

Greyduster Tue 21-Jun-16 08:08:34

If you are going for September, I can't do 14th - just remembered it's DH's birthday. Hope it doesn't throw a spanner in the works.
