East Midlands meet up?

I`ll have to look into buses, don`t know if they run from Boston to Grantham, train fares are a bit steep, about £14 to Grantham from here, and it`s longer than by car.

Boston is a little more awkward by public transport from North Hykeham , CG. In honesty, I'd prefer Grantham or even Sleaford but I'll go with the flow!

PS, anyone fancy Boston for a meet up?

Hi Scribbles, more or less any date in March would do me, as for venues, I don`t know Grantham, apart from travelling through, maybe Tiggy can suggest somewhere?

Hello Tiggy, it`s a pity you weren`t here in October, there was a small (4 of us) meet up in Grantham then, at the Angel and Royal. Hopefully we`ll do it again sometime. I`m in Boston if you fancy meeting up.

Hello, have just joined gransnet and been reading this thread. However, it seems to have stopped last August 17. Is it continuing under another name? I live near Grantham but my daughter and granddaughter live in Nottingham so would love to join in any meetings in Nottingham. Thanks.

Hooray the date is set - now for the restaurant I like both so someone else who has a preference can choose. I shall come in by bus so I'll find out the times as they have recently changed and the bus station is closed I think for a refurb.

Nottingham suits me better as I don't have to change trains, something of a trial with me now.
I can get a train arriving at 11.27 or 12.27, I can always get a taxi to wherever you are meeting.

Oh good lets have a meet up and put the rest of the world to rights. kittylester and I did the NHS and social services yesterday but they could proably do with more attention. Nottingham on 26th would be good for me. We went to Jamies Italian last time and I seem to remember Carluccios when we met in Leicester- I'm easy but I will need feeding!!!

We will be back from holiday by then. Nottingham or Derby would be good for me.

but my only proviso is that
I must be able to reach the meeting place from the station, either Nottingham, Derby, possibly Leicester.

Had a lovely catchup with Teetime today and we decided to reboot this thread to see what everyone thinks. It was suggested that we meet on September 26th - somewhere.

Any comments anyone.

I don't mind either Derby or Nottingham. Have the Derbyshire people suggested a venue?

Would it make sense to combine this with the Derbyshire meet up proposed on their local site? I can do lifts from Railway or Bus stations Ann.
