Anybody up for a North West meet up before we get busy with the Summer holidays?

rubylady Tue 25-Oct-16 00:11:14

Do the trafford centre hire out any disability scooters withing the centre? Or do you meet near the centre? I would love to come but I can't walk round the centre. Only did the Dreams shop today with the doggie in her pram and I was shattered doing that. sad

thanks for replying Nana3 really slow on this site must be me as I just got your message. Doesnt have to be the Trafford Centre I just thought it would be a central place for Cheshire and North west. Open to all suggestions! Would be good to meet other gransnetters and if there are any alone like myself a good chance to have a laugh

Hello rubylady what a great name. New to this and hoping to chat with as many members as possible and have a north west pre xmas get together. Let me know your thoughts. So sorry you have had a rough time lately the future will get better I hope

Hi Marylane, welcome to the site and thank you for your lovely message and compliment. smile Unfortunately my health problems have been around for some time now so can't see me getting better any time soon but I try my best to stay as upbeat as I can.

I am looking forward to meeting with you, you seem very enthusiastic and I could do with some of that rubbing off on me right now. Which area of the North West are you in? I'm in Bolton.

Sending you flowers to welcome you. X

Anyone up for a Christmas tea and mince pie meeting? Or lunch?

It would be lovely to round the year off with some great friends and a chat.

Maybe the Thursday 15th December, anywhere?

smile

It doesn't have to be that date, it was just a suggestion? smile

Anyone still got time for a pre Christmas meet up in the northwest? Or an between Christmas and new year meet up? marylane are you still hoping to organise one?

Bebe47 Thu 15-Dec-16 12:41:44

I would be up for a meeting with anyone - I am in the Lakes though - anyone up here near me? new Year is better for me as I have been ill recently.

mazza245 Fri 23-Dec-16 00:08:27

Hello everyone and particularly Bebe47. Yes, a meetup in January somewhere north would be good. What about around Lancaster or Kendal if you are in the Lakes? Anyone interested?

emptynester1 Sun 01-Jan-17 13:08:21

I enjoyed our meeting in the Radcliffe garden centre and would love another meet up. I live near to there so anywhere within a few miles radius would be good for me. I'm disabled and don't drive so would be getting a lift, therefore would not be able to travel too far. xx

GrannyA11i Thu 19-Jan-17 15:56:46

Im still up for a northwest meet up but the Lake District is bit too far from Wirral for that. Anyone bit nearer?

mazza245 Wed 25-Jan-17 11:35:21

Cone on, let's get this organised. We have grans in the Lakes and grans in the Wirral and all points in between wanting a meetup. Surely it's not beyond us to organise one - in February maybe?

mazza245 Wed 01-Feb-17 12:52:32

I don't think anyone is checking this page at all. Maybe drop the whole idea of a meetup altogether?

Elegran Wed 01-Feb-17 13:35:59

mazza Why not send a PM to each poster who has said they would love to come to a meeting, asking when they can be there in the next few weeks (and when is impossible) and where they could suggest, then take it from there. They are all waiting for someone else to organise it - wait too long and it will never happen.

marylane1996 Fri 24-Feb-17 10:05:59

Yes I,m up for a North West meet up and agree that the Lake District is too far. I am half an hour from the Wirral anyone else up for that

marylane1996 Fri 24-Feb-17 10:08:30

Granny11i sorry have been off line but had bad acident and just got going so never arranged a Christmas meeting. There is always Easter though, any thoughts

mazza245 Wed 01-Mar-17 16:43:16

I feel that it's too far to go to the Wirral from here, north Lancashire. It would have to be the Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, central Lancashire or Lancaster or Kendal area for me. I'm away for the whole of April so Easter is out for me. Anyone willing to meet up in May?

Oldcroc17 Sun 02-Apr-17 21:11:51

Hello.

I'm new to gransnet and would like to meet up for a coffee. I'm in Preston so that would be a good location for me. May sounds good. Hope more people will come.

carol257 Wed 05-Apr-17 08:30:18

Hi Oldcroc

I also live in Preston and would like to meet up

Oldcroc17 Wed 05-Apr-17 13:48:32

That would be lovely. Is April 19th ok with you. A bit busy in the run up to Easter. Morning coffee? Also may give a few more people chance to contact and arrange!

GrannyA11i Wed 05-Apr-17 14:35:36

Preston is a bit far for me for a local meet up unfortunately. Im trying to get one organised for early May in Wirral after the children are back in school!

Marylane and Mazza - and anyone else are you still up for a meet - next month??

alex57currie Fri 07-Apr-17 09:53:05

I've pm'd oldcroc & carol.

carol257 Sun 09-Apr-17 14:27:58

Hi

Not had any private messages ??

Oldcroc17 Sun 09-Apr-17 15:31:06

Hello carol257 and alex57currie . Thanks for the private message alex57 and hope you got mine back. Maybe a few more people will like to meet up. Is the date I suggested ok for you both? Can always change it.

alex57currie Sun 09-Apr-17 18:01:50

Hi,

Sorry you didn't get my pm Carol. No pm received from you oldcroc? Never mind. The 19th of April is fine by me. Only left to decide on a venue. I'm quite cool on any place.
