Hi everyone, I am a new member and I couldn't find any active groups for this area.

Grandma2Two Wed 14-Sept-22 11:55:13

Hello Helen
I’m a bit late to the party! I am West Sussex also...I love a nice walk along Littlehampton beach front.
It would be nice to get the West Sussex group active don’t you think?

Hi, How are you all. Anyone from Littlehampton

Hi Helen. I'm 5 miles along the sea, 10 miles along the road

Greenfinch Thu 12-May-22 11:30:04

Hi Helen this is a very old thread almost entirely involving the grans who used to meet occasionally in Dorking. Not that it matters but you would do better to begin a new thread entitled Littlehampton/West Sussex which would attract people living in that area. I think most grans would think Surrey is a little bit too far.

Hi, How are you all. Anyone from Littlehampton

Hi anyone one from littlehampton area

Lovely to see you all today. I think a Christmas meetup is a good idea. Gorgeous Gerties was full of pretty bits when we met before in November/December.
Had an interesting journey home. The Bluetooth on my car threw a wobbler and I had a ringing phone coming through the loudspeakers all the way home. It would only stop if I turned off the engine, which was not an option. confused

MiniMouse Fri 02-Sept-16 20:13:52

I can juggle most days around, apart from Mondays.

Greenfinch Fri 02-Sept-16 20:07:29

I am fairly flexible apart from Tuesdays.

alchemillamollis Fri 02-Sept-16 19:48:26

Are Fridays best?

alchemillamollis Fri 02-Sept-16 19:06:19

Yes, sorry, I should have passed on Cazzajen's apologies when everyone was there. blush I had a really lovely time, so good to meet you all. thanks

Christmas in Dorking sounds great. Probably early in December is best, before we all get frantic?

Greenfinch Fri 02-Sept-16 18:35:08

Thanks for your company everyone. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and lovely to meet MiniMouse and catch up with the others again.Journey home was uneventful after I eventually found the bus stop ! The train was crowded due to the previous one having been cancelled. I am up for a Christmas meeting in Dorking. We ought to pencil in a date now .Any suggestions?

MiniMouse Fri 02-Sept-16 17:19:50

Lovely meeting up with you all today! Bus ride home was almost as 'exciting' as the one to Dorking - I think the drivers were ex-Formula 1!! I don't know what the speed limit is down the country lanes, but ...... phew!

Yes, a December gathering would be good. I imagine Dorking will be very C*******ssy and festive looking.

Grannyknot Fri 02-Sept-16 17:02:24

Hi and thanks everyone, yes good -with still more chats - train-trip home with alchemillamollis after a very enjoyable lunch.

Lovely to see purpledaffodil, greenfinch, minimouse again and meet penstemmon.

I think cazzajen sent apologies smile but alchemillamollis will know!

Let's do Dorking again in December!

Penstemmon Fri 02-Sept-16 16:45:33

Hi... good to meet you all ( & Greenfinch again) smile I hope you all got to trains /buses in time and had smooth journeys home. I was so busy trying to remember who was who I realise, only now, that we were one missing and I did not even ask. Hope you are OK cazzajen ?

alchemillamollis Fri 02-Sept-16 10:23:12

I'm aiming to be early so I can explore Dorking a bit. Seeyou at the café.

Greenfinch Fri 02-Sept-16 08:06:47

Granny not and I are going to try and meet up at Dorking main about 12.45 to try and catch a bus.If anyone else is around at that time you are welcome to join us.See you all later.

alchemillamollis Fri 02-Sept-16 02:04:06

I should think West St and South St are both in the centre of Dorking. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Penstemmon Thu 01-Sept-16 19:38:58

Great..looking forward to meeting you all! I will be driving..it says 30 minutes from home..ha ha! I will allow longer!

MiniMouse Thu 01-Sept-16 14:24:38

Can't seem to sort out the bus numbers, but I think some also stop in South Street, which is (allegedly!) 3 mins walk away!

Greenfinch Thu 01-Sept-16 14:08:53

Thanks Mini. I will come to Deepene and catch the bus.Looking forward to seeing everyone

Grannyknot Thu 01-Sept-16 11:27:16

Brilliant thanks mini. smile

MiniMouse Thu 01-Sept-16 11:21:06

Just checked and there are buses from Dorking Deepdene and Main railway stations to West Street. See you all tomorrow smile

alchemillamollis Wed 31-Aug-16 19:31:14

For those coming by train, the station is some distance from Gorgeous Gerties. They said it was a 15 minute walk, but it looks further on the map. I expect there will be buses that go to West Street.

alchemillamollis Wed 31-Aug-16 18:06:42

Thanks for letting me know, Grannyknot and Penstemmon. It would be great if we can all bring our diaries, then we can come back here and suggest some dates for the next one(s). Lots of people on this thread who'd like to come to one. (Lol, I see I said the same thing upthread...doh...) grin

whitewave Wed 31-Aug-16 17:06:04

I would like to meet as well, but grandparenting duties sad

Hopefully next time?
