Edinburgh mid-December meet 2017

Marydoll, it WAS one of those switchboards! I was in that job from 1959 until 1964, quite liked it, but the chief supervisor was a bit of a tartar! It was at Rochdale exchange.

It would have been lovely to meet you callgirl, I loved your previous name.

For some reason, I always picture you sitting at one of those switchboards with all the cables.

I too wish I could have been there, but the train fare is too prohibitive I`m afraid.

I wish that we rewind and do it all again. I would have enjoyed chatting and getting to know those Granspals with whom I'm not familiar. The event was a cheerful and greatly appreciated treat.

Oh go on, Marydoll, it is time Scotland's second city (where's my tin hat? takes cover) hosted a meet-up. I believe there has been one, but I couldn't get to it so I can't tell you anything about it. It's not that difficult - you don't have to publicise it and market it, everyone seems keen to come, you just have to count numbers and pick a nice place. Tutorials on request.

OOOh I'm thinking about it.
However, Jan and I could never match Elengran's organisational skills.

Just passed The Angel of the North in the train so I'm now officially 'down South', and left behind the snow which was falling when I left Fife.
I'm sure I saw icebergs floating on the Tweed in Berwick, though they could have been frozen swans!!
Hope everyone had a safe journey home and look forward to meeting again in 2018 (in Glasgow????).
