Does anyone fancy a lunch-time meet-up in York, perhaps the week of the 6th 'til the 10th of November, before everywhere gets busy with C***** meals?

Artyfarty Fri 10-Nov-17 20:28:19

Annsixty, we were all ladies of a “certain age” It was good to have a chat and a nice meal. Age is just a number so come along next time!

You all look as though you had a good time but I'm glad I wasn't there. I would have looked like the old woman in the corner.
Grans are getting younger all the time.

Yes jane10 it was a very enjoyable meet-up and good food, too. There were six of us, from the left:- Artyfarty, Morningdew, Alygran, me, Kupari and Greyduster who took the photo (she's camera shy!!).
Good to be able to put a face to a name.

I had a very enjoyable afternoon so thank you oldgoat for getting us all together. I would definitely look forward to meeting up again in January.

Lovely photo. You all look like you're having a good time. I know oldgoat but who's who among the others?

oldgoat Fri 10-Nov-17 17:45:07

Lovely to meet you all in York today and hope you all arrived home safely. Anyone fancy another meetup in January, maybe before you head off up-North, Kupari?

oldgoat Thu 09-Nov-17 13:27:33

Thanks granniequeenie
I don't think there'll be any embarassing silences tomorrow! See you next time, I hope.

grannyqueenie Thu 09-Nov-17 12:19:01

Hope you all enjoy a lovely chatty lunch tomorrow, hope I can make next time.

oldgoat Thu 09-Nov-17 10:43:31

Hello to all the Yorkshire Grans who are coming to our meet-up tomorrow. See you inside the restaurant at 12.30. It's too cold to wait outside! I'll get there early so just ask for The Grans' Table. I think there are just 6 of us now. I'll be looking out for you anyway ( though there's always the danger of me inviting some innocent stranger to join the party).
Yippee! Can't wait to meet you.

Greyduster Thu 09-Nov-17 10:35:00

I will be there, Deo Volente! The train I am planning to catch gets in at 11.40 so I will have plenty of time to dawdle from the station.

Artyfarty Thu 09-Nov-17 10:23:11

Is everyone still good for lunch tomorrow in York? See you all outside the restaurant at 12.30?

oldgoat Sun 05-Nov-17 11:10:08

There is still time for any York Grans (or anyone else who fancies a day out in York) to book a place at our meet-up on Friday 10th November at Côte Brasserie in Petergate at 12.30.
Please let me know as soon as possible so that I can book extra places at the table.

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 10:38:42

Not long to go now 'til the York meetup and now we are seven:-
Alygran
Artyfarty
Ginggran
Greyduster
Kupari
Meadowdew
and me - Oldgoat
If any other Grans would care to join us for lunch at Côte Brasserie near York Minster at 12.30 on the 10th November, please let me know and I'll add your name to the list.

ginggran Thu 26-Oct-17 15:25:38

Thank you oldgoat I am looking forward to "the granny gathering"

oldgoat Wed 25-Oct-17 21:59:46

Welcome ginggran . The more the merrier. I've reserved a table for us; it's no problem to add more grans right up to the day before we meet.
Côte Brasserie is quite big but it can get busy on Fridays.

ginggran Wed 25-Oct-17 20:21:33

Is there room for one more?

Greyduster Wed 25-Oct-17 19:45:42

Well, if I have to stand all the way, I shall be ready for a sit down when I get there and meet all you lovely folks! Really looking forward to it.

oldgoat Wed 25-Oct-17 19:21:32

So pleased that you will be joining us kupari . I'd booked an extra space especially for you!

Perhaps jane10 and granniequeenie will be able to come next time to our next meet-up?

I know trains are a bit overcrowded these days greyduster. Hope you'll be comfortable in the guard's van. I had to literally barge my way off a train in Birmingham a few days ago. The aisle was packed with people who refused to move and let anybody on or off the train.

Greyduster Wed 25-Oct-17 16:25:54

That would have been lovely, gq - hope there'll be a next time!

grannyqueenie Wed 25-Oct-17 13:52:31

I’m so sorry I can’t join you, I’m already committed to something else on that day. Have a lovely time!

Kupari45 Wed 25-Oct-17 13:46:43

Have checked with other Gran(we share child minding). It looks like I will be free to come to York on Nov 10th. Can you manage another one at the table ?
Would love to meet you all.
Brenda

Greyduster Tue 24-Oct-17 19:51:30

I have booked my ticket among the mail bags in the guards van and look forward to meeting you all! Thank you, Oldgoat! ?

Artyfarty Tue 24-Oct-17 19:29:26

Great! Look forward to it.

oldgoat Tue 24-Oct-17 18:19:56

Hello artyfarty Yes, there is room for you. I reserved some extra spaces for people who had missed the thread - it drops off the bottom of the page so quickly!
Looking forward to meeting you.

Sorry that you can't make it this time maggiemaybe . See you in Leeds perhaps?
