I live just outside York and I have just seen this. I would be interested in joining you if you have room for one more. I love going to York it’s such a beautiful city.

I can’t make it this time, but will look out for future meetings. If anyone would be handy for Leeds that would be easier for me but I do like a trip to York! Have a lovely lunch.

Yes can't cope with crowds lol - we had a place in Lincoln and the Christmas market was horrendous on the weekends.

Sorry that you can't join us this time willow Hope this will be the first of many York meetups, though.
The Living North Christmas Fair is on the race course so shouldn't be a problem for us in town. The York Christmas market starts the following week which is why we are having the meet-up before it starts. York will be absolutely packed when the market is on though it's worth a visit if you don't mind crowds.

I might have done this - train is only 20 mins for me but my husband is due home from a business trip that day so better be here when he gets back. Did you know it's the Living North Christmas Fair weekend in York the same time?

The table is booked for the York meetup at Côte Brasserie in Petergate, near York Minster, at 12.30 on the 10th November. I've reserved a few extra places in case any more Grans would like to join us.

This will be the first York meet-up for ages. Why not come along?

Quality over quantity?!

Sorry that you can't make it to York this time Jane10 Next year, perhaps?
Hope a few more people decide to come or it's going to be a very select gathering!

Sorry. I can't do the 10th. Looking at my diary I seem to have accidentally filled it up in November and December is going that way too. I really can't see me making it to York. I hope you all have a great time though. If it's anything like the Edinburgh ones you certainly will!

Looking forward to meeting you greyduster . Sorry it's too far for you to travel kateykrunch Perhaps I could come to a South Yorkshire meet-up some time and see you there. Love your name, by the way!

Kateykrunch Sat 07-Oct-17 12:08:53

York is a long way for me and I have just looked at train fares and its a bit expensive, so have fun and I will wait till we have a more South Yorkshire get together.

Greyduster Sat 07-Oct-17 11:40:07

That's ok with me. Pencilled it in provisionally.

oldgoat Sat 07-Oct-17 11:22:20

Whoops! Thought my first message had disappeared into the ether!

oldgoat Sat 07-Oct-17 11:20:56

How about Friday 10th November for the York meet-up? We have 5 Grans possibly coming so far. I'm sure there must be lots more living nearby. Hope they decide to join us, too.

Any further on with dates? I might be prepared to venture south of the border if I can reconcile my diary!

oldgoat Thu 05-Oct-17 16:45:51

Hello alygran . Hope a few more Yorkshire Grans will join us then we can pick which day suits everyone.

Alygran Wed 04-Oct-17 18:49:58

Possibly me too but not Wednesday or Thursday.

Greyduster Wed 04-Oct-17 18:02:15

At the moment, any day would do for me.

oldgoat Wed 04-Oct-17 17:35:14

Which day(s) would be best for you greyduster ?
Cote Brasserie, near York Minster, does a reasonable lunch and they let you stay as long as you like.

Greyduster Wed 04-Oct-17 17:27:42

Might be a good week for me, if I may join you.

oldgoat Wed 04-Oct-17 16:59:33

Does anyone fancy a lunch-time meet-up in York, perhaps the week of the 6th 'til the 10th of November, before everywhere gets busy with C***** meals?
