I know we have a few Lincs members so does anybody fancy a GN gathering for coffee/lunch/G&T or whatever?
I'm located a couple of miles south of Lincoln and don't drive but am happy to go anywhere public transport will take me and am easy about whether it's morning, afternoon or evening. Plenty of places to choose from in Lincoln itself but other towns are available!

Table for 5 is booked, 12 noon on 31/10, in the name of Grans' Net. See y'all there.smile

downtoearth Sat 21-Oct-17 07:54:48

I can stay on bus and meet in spalding callgirl smile

callgirl1 Fri 20-Oct-17 21:12:41

To make sure we can all sit together, it might be wise to book.
Downtoearth, I`m currently trying to find out if the Spalding bus from Boston stops off at Springfields. There is a bus stop there, but a friend tells me the bus from Boston doesn`t go there, but I`ll definitely find out in the next day or two.

Darn! That should have read pot luck....

Scribbles Fri 20-Oct-17 18:25:44

Good-oh, CG1. I should be there about 11:30. Now I'm wondering whether to book a table or should we just takeout luck?

callgirl1 Fri 20-Oct-17 17:37:35

Sorry Teddy, a bit far for me.
Well, I`ve ordered my train tickets. My train gets into Grantham at 11.41am, and I`m going home on the 5.32pm train.

Teddy111 Fri 20-Oct-17 10:46:08

Any people near Brigg,Scawby or Scunthorpe

callgirl1 Thu 19-Oct-17 17:52:50

Brilliant Oldgoat, I`ll book my tickets after tea.

oldgoat Thu 19-Oct-17 11:50:16

callgirl We can share a taxi from the station.

Scribbles Thu 19-Oct-17 10:10:19

Callgirl1, as all but downtoearth have said 31st is OK for them, then I think we should regard this as a definite arrangement. So, yes, go ahead and book your ticket. Short of some disaster, like a drone falling on the bus stop, I shall be there!

downtoearth Thu 19-Oct-17 08:44:43

Feeling better about not be able to meet up wouldnt have been able to do 31st as going to corn Exchange with a friend that evening if another meet is arranged I will arrange to use the car and drive up

callgirl1 Wed 18-Oct-17 23:49:44

Am I safe to go ahead and book train tickets?

callgirl1 Wed 18-Oct-17 20:51:02

I`ll be taking a taxi anyway, can`t walk very far.

Scribbles Wed 18-Oct-17 19:15:33

Oldgoat, I'm sure you'll add class and tone to the proceedings, if your user name is anything to judge by! So far as I'm concerned, this is an exercise in getting to meet people (I haven't lived here for long) so the more, the merrier. The Angel & Royal looks on Open Street Map to be around 10 mins' walk from the station, a little over half a mile.

Scribbles Wed 18-Oct-17 19:09:04

Good heavens. Thanks for the update, maryeliza54 . Who thought a handful of GNers behaving not-too-badly was worth informing the Twitterati? This might be interesting ... or scary!

Teetime Wed 18-Oct-17 18:07:36

I can make 31st Oct

oldgoat Wed 18-Oct-17 17:14:34

Please, can I come too? I love a GN meet-up and I can get to Grantham easily by train. Is the Angel and Royal far from the station ?

callgirl1 Wed 18-Oct-17 17:09:27

October 31st is fine with me.
Yep Downtoearth, we`ll fix a date soon.

maryeliza54 Wed 18-Oct-17 16:28:26

This thread is now on Twitter so who knows who else might turn up?

Scribbles Wed 18-Oct-17 10:56:34

How about we settle for 31 October? Unless, of course, Teetime can't make that day. Say, 12:00 in Bertie's Bistro at the Angel & Royal?
I'm looking forward to meeting you allsmile.

downtoearth Wed 18-Oct-17 07:46:25

callgirl look forward to that , we can make a date once the dates for the Lincolnshire meet up have been arrangedsmile

callgirl1 Tue 17-Oct-17 23:47:49

The only time I definitely CAN`T make it is November 16/17/18th, s my daughter is taking me to London.
Downtoearth, I`d love to meet up with you at Springfields, anytime apart from the above dates.

Nandalot Tue 17-Oct-17 14:08:28

At the moment I could make either of those. Tuesday is usually good for me.

Scribbles Tue 17-Oct-17 13:37:26

I'd overlooked half term ...
But let's be bold and make a decision: how about Tues 31 October at the Angel & Royal? Or the following Tuesday? Lunchtime?
Of course, if we can't all make one of those dates, then we can pick another!

Nandalot Tue 17-Oct-17 13:17:33

Grantham is good for me too..probably catching same bus as Scribbles! Weds. are no good for me and next week , of course, is half-term so Granny duties beckon. Hope we can arrange something.
