That's a shame, downtoearth, but maybe another time.....?

There seem to be plenty of food options in Grantham (according to Trip Advisor) such as the Eden Wine bar in the Market Place; the bistro at the Angel & Royal Hotel in the High Street where they do a soup-&-sandwich type of lunch; Barkers restaurant, just around the corner from there where the emphasis seems to be on traditional English food; or even (for the calorifically reckless among us grin) Neptune Fish Bar & Restaurant on London Road. Plus, all the usual chain eateries.
I'd humbly suggest that the Angel & Royal may be a little staid BUT it may also be a quietish place to talk without having to shout over music etc.

Any ideas about dates? After Weds next week, I've nothing binding in my diary so could do just about do any week day. Probably best to do it before December when the office party season gets underway.

Sadly will have to bow out as I cannot get to Grantham as I am in Mid Norfolk....but callgirl we could still meet at Springfield as we have suggested previously to each other smile

I`m easy, as long as the menu is varied, and not just foreign food. Actually (whispering Scribbles) I`m a fish and chips worshipper!

Grantham would be easier for me than Boston. Not sure about Spalding: I'd probably need to set off the day before!

downtoearth Mon 16-Oct-17 20:21:49

And I will eat anything smile

I dont know Grantham at all as I live in Norfolk but I can get a bus to either Spalding or Boston with out a problem, I know the shopping village in Spalding ..Springfield..would Boston be difficult or a central place to meetsmile

I enjoy most things except "fast food" type offerings - pub grub, fish&chips, pasta, deli sandwiches, etc, etc.

I think Grantham has a usual selection of eateries like Pizza Express, Ask etc etc - what does everyone fancy to eat

callgirl1 Mon 16-Oct-17 18:16:12

I don`t know Grantham, apart from driving through it, so can`t be of help regarding a venue, sorry.

I've just looked it up and found a reasonable bus service between Lincoln & Grantham during the day so I could make a lunchtime or early afternoon there. Don't know the town at all though so downtoearth or someone else will have to choose a venue.

downtoearth Mon 16-Oct-17 17:28:34

Hopefully this time callgirl just been looking to see if Grantham is possible

callgirl1 Mon 16-Oct-17 17:24:41

Yes "Nellie", we never did manage it, did we?

Teetime Mon 16-Oct-17 09:22:08

I could come if its near Grantham

downtoearth Mon 16-Oct-17 08:29:55

I Can get to Boston ...if that suits others...might get to meet you at last * call girl*smile

Scribbles Sun 15-Oct-17 23:12:21

Great smile, that's two of us. Let's see if there's any more response before deciding a date and venue...

callgirl1 Sun 15-Oct-17 20:51:45

I`m in Boston, would happily come to a meet up. Just say where and when.

I know we have a few Lincs members so does anybody fancy a GN gathering for coffee/lunch/G&T or whatever?
I'm located a couple of miles south of Lincoln and don't drive but am happy to go anywhere public transport will take me and am easy about whether it's morning, afternoon or evening. Plenty of places to choose from in Lincoln itself but other towns are available!
