How about meeting round about 25th Jan for a so-called Burns lunch? (any excuse to eat drink and be merry) That would give those who couldn't make today's Christmas bash another chance.

Thanks GNHQ smile

I still don't have a home for a little square white dish.

Jane10 Wed 31-Jan-18 14:00:19

Well presented is pretty good though! Better than 'in need of updating' or 'ideal fixer upper'. I'm sure it's lovely though and will sell quickly enabling you to relax and have lots of curries and garlicky meals until you have to move out!

Looks as if you all had a grand day out and a splendid lunch. Sorry to have missed it, tho' perhaps just as well if there was singing. Have been a bit occupied with getting our N Berwick flat in a state ready for sale and keeping it that way. It now looks as if no-one lives here. We were a bit miffed to find that despite all this, in the local estate agent's terms, our house is merely "well-presented' rather than "immaculate" or still less "stunning". Must try harder hmm

They’re my glasses and on their way home to mama. Thank you to Marydoll flowers

Any chance of putting some names to the faces in the photos? I recognise four of you but it would be nice to know who the rest are!
Glad you all had a lovely time. Makes the travelling worth while ? I think.

oldgoat Sat 27-Jan-18 08:19:13

Thanks marydoll I'll contact jollyg about the butter dish. Delighted to say that I found the macaroons in the bottom of my bag and I've just had one for my breakfast. Delicious.
Sorry to hear that you had such an awful journey home - quite scary if there are rowdy drunks in your carriage. DS is a British Transport Police special constable. They have to deal with a lot of bad behaviour on trains. He loves it - always wanted to be a policeman but his mother talked him out of it...

Marydoll Sat 27-Jan-18 07:39:54

Old Goat, Your stainless steal butter dish is in Jolly G's fridge and as for the macaroon, it is no more. wink

Once again, who has lost thieir purple glasses, which I saved from the recycling bin???. We weren't that sloshed surely? grin

cascats Sat 27-Jan-18 06:44:26

Can I also add my thanks to the hard working Elizabeth1 and Elegran, and the delightful Jollyg for letting us use her beautiful home for our Burns Afternoon. It was a great to meet some more of the Grans, good food, great company, what more can you ask smile
Marydoll, loved the tablet, thank you and haved managed to save one piece for husband (if he's quick) grin

oldgoat Fri 26-Jan-18 23:27:34

And here's another.

Katek Fri 26-Jan-18 23:18:54

Ee, tha’s bin a good day! Lovely lunch with good company followed by an excellent production of ‘Miss Saigon’. Thanks to all those who worked so hard to make it such a good meet up and thanks so much to jollyg for sharing her home with us.

And another pic.......

oldgoat Fri 26-Jan-18 23:18:10

Thanks to the Edinburgh Grans for introducing me to the delights of the Burns lunch. Special thanks to Elizabeth 1 and Elegran for organising the food and jollyg for inviting us to use her beautiful home for the afternoon.
I really enjoyed listening to poems and singing and wish I had the voice to join in.

I seem to have come home without my stainless steel butter dish and my bag of macaroons. I expect the butter dish is a jollyg's - and perhaps it's just as well about the sweeties because I seem to have eaten rather a lot today already , and it was all delicious.
It was another great meet-up.

GeminiJen Fri 26-Jan-18 22:17:04

I'd just like to add my thanks to jollyg for providing a super venue, Elizabeth1 and Elegran for organising and everyone else for a super afternoon. Sorry to hear you had such a bad journey home, Marydoll....but please don't let that put you off coming over again to the dark side wink
As I sit here, I'm sucking on a piece of your tablet....tooth-rottingly deliciousgrin
Oh...and yes, here's another pic...

Marydoll Fri 26-Jan-18 21:43:22

What a lovely day at the meet up. Thank you Jolly for hosting and Elizabeth 1 and Elengran chefs extraordinaire.

I found a pair of purple specs in the recycling. If you have lost them, please PM and I'll post them, duly wrapped in bubble wrap.?

I had a nightmare journey back. It took me three hours to get home, as my train was stuck behind a broken down train. Then there was an * Incident" on the train and the police were called. I did learn a few new swear words on the train!
I think I'm becoming too old for an adventure!

Baggs Fri 26-Jan-18 21:35:24

Thank you from me too. Got home a little while ago. It was a lovely meetup.

Jangran99 Fri 26-Jan-18 20:16:52

Thank you jollyg and Elizabeth1 for all your hard work , and to everyone there for making it a great day.

Elizabeth1 Fri 26-Jan-18 19:46:41

You smashing ladies all very well versed. I had a lovely time and we even had a great attempt at singing Coming through the rashes oh. Mind you I think I only knew the chorus. I’m still stuffed foo with haggis, neeps tatties, salmon, and cheeses, wine and of course chat. I’m very glad to hear you all had a good time.

Elegran Fri 26-Jan-18 19:06:32

I seem to have acquired a little square white dish. It is almost the same as one of mine, so I thought I must have brought something in it. I'll return it to its owner next time, unless you need it sooner, in which case I can post it.

Marelli Fri 26-Jan-18 18:46:32

I wish I could’ve joined you all, it looked to be such a lovely gathering! As soon as DH has been ‘sorted out’ at Edin Royal, I’ll be with you all again. ?

Elegran Fri 26-Jan-18 17:12:03

I hope your other half likes haggis neeps and tatties, JollyG I have a feeling he will getting that for tea tonight, for lunch tomorrow, etc etc etc.
