Hello, I've just joined. Any other grans in Glasgow who would like to meet for coffee and a chat?

Marydoll Fri 25-Jan-19 22:26:55

This is getting better and better! Welcome!
Where have you all being hiding? We have been trying for ages to arrange something.?

Marydoll - I remember last year that there didn't seem to be much interest in a Glasgow meet-up but it's looking good now. I also thought of the Concert Hall cafe Bartsmaw but have never been in John Lewis and always happy to try somewhere new.

This could be the start of something good! ?

Jangran99 Fri 25-Jan-19 23:24:56

Actually the Concert Hall would be better as our numbers have grown perhaps too big for JL. It's no further and therefore easy to find for those not so familiar with Glasgow. What say you?

I now make that 10 of us!

Any Aberdeen meet ups?

Marydoll Sat 26-Jan-19 07:46:22

grannybuy, you will get a better response, if you start a separate thread and mention Aberdeen in the title.
There are a number of grans up your way.
Good luck!

GrannyBear Sat 26-Jan-19 09:57:31

Concert Hall is fine with me!

Kalu Sat 26-Jan-19 10:07:40

Concert Hall sounds good to me too especially as our numbers are growing??

Bartsmaw Sat 26-Jan-19 11:10:31

Great stuff looking forward to it. ?

Hi ! I can’t make this Meetup as I’ll be away on holiday.
I hope you have many more and I get the chance to meet you all ?

jacq10 Sun 27-Jan-19 12:47:00

Hi, grannybuy - don't know if you have used the G9 Aberdeen/Glasgow bus but the timings are great for a quick trip. I know it's a bit of a long journey but they look after you with tea/coffee/muffin and of course if you can flash a bus pass the whole trip is free!!! For the meet-up it is also very convenient for the Concert Hall (just across the road).

I live about an hour from Glasgow. Would be happy to meet in the city as not too far from home.

Jangran99 Tue 29-Jan-19 07:32:28

Ffion welcome to Glasgow grannies. It would be lovely to meet you. As our numbers are growing I would guess that we'll decide on the Concert Hall as our venue ,so watch this space!

Grannybuy...I'm in Ellon, but could easily jump on a bus into town. Are there any other North Easters out there who fancy coffee and a blether?

Jangran99 Fri 08-Feb-19 21:14:33

Evening ladies?
Our meet-up is now only a week away.Looking forward to seeing you all on

Hi All, I would be up for a Glasgow meet-up but unfortunately I can’t make this one. I hope you have a lovely time and I look forward to hearing about it and joining you at the next one.
The Concert Hall would be a good place for me too as I would travel on the bus.
Enjoy. ☕️?

Marydoll Sat 09-Feb-19 14:33:37

Welcome to the thread, Parsley. Looking forward to meeting you at the next one. smile

I was wondering how we would recognise each other. ?
Baggs, Jan and I have already met a few times in Edinburgh, so we won't have a problem, but some may be a little bit nervous.
Should I make a discrete little sign for the table, or should we all carry a red rose, or dress all in purple, or wear a hat, or just hope for the best! grin
