As mentioned on previous thread (Ladies who like to lunch in London) I'm just starting this one.
If anyone fancies suggesting a date for a new Meet, or a venue (though Debenhams is pretty central) it would be lovely to see you all.

Niobe that is great. Nearer the time we will have a better idea if tubes, trains and buses will be running on that day or not. I am aware there will be more strikes but to my knowledge, no dates have been mentioned.

Niobe Fri 18-Nov-22 19:30:47

Sorry just seen this. 7 th December is good for me too. Will mark the diary.

Hi Charleygirl
Nice to hear from you again. It will be lovely to see you all. I can make 7th December so I look forward to being there smile

Charleygirl5 Mon 07-Nov-22 18:36:09

Elusivebutterly do not worry. The last time I met anybody there I arrived exactly on time. None of us can travel before 9.30 am and I go by car, bus and 2 tubes so if the system is not working 100% there can be a problem.

You do not know any of us (I do not think) so I will keep my dark green anorak on until you and Wizend arrive. The remaining three and I have met before.

Elusivebutterfly Mon 07-Nov-22 12:35:02

That sounds good for me, though I possibly may be a little later than 11.

Charleygirl5 Mon 07-Nov-22 09:53:18

Only Niobe to confirm and we are up and running.

loopyloo Sun 06-Nov-22 19:33:43

Should be able to make Wed's 7th.
See you then.

Bellanonna Sun 06-Nov-22 17:51:05

Sounds good Charkeygirl.

Charleygirl5 Sun 06-Nov-22 15:09:37

Shall we say Wednesday the 7th of December at 11 am 5th floor John Lewis Oxford Street.

The first person to arrive bags hopefully a window table and if not, the closest to the windows.

Any questions please just ask.

Charleygirl5 Sat 05-Nov-22 21:54:04

Anybody else interested?

Charleygirl5 Fri 04-Nov-22 19:05:07

The 7th December, a Wednesday would suit me fine and in my opinion, it is far enough away from the 25th to hopefully not make JL very crowded.

That will be 3 of us we could do with a few more!

Bellanonna Fri 04-Nov-22 17:54:24

Hi Charleygirl. I’d love to met up again. 7th December would be better for me. Also happy to meet after Cmas.
I gather today that there won’t be any rail strikes.

Charleygirl5 Fri 04-Nov-22 10:17:01

I am also dependent on the tubes and buses running as my journey is by car, bus and 2 tubes.

Elusivebutterfly we will wait and see what others say.

Elusivebutterfly Fri 04-Nov-22 09:55:58

I could do Friday 2nd December or Wednesday 7th. This is dependent on no train strikes. I travel to central London by train (as does Bellanonna) as no tubes here.

Charleygirl5 Thu 03-Nov-22 19:05:10

That is great Niobe it will be good to meet up again.

Here are a few dates- see what people think. Friday 2nd December, Tuesday 6th and Wednesday the 7th of December? If none is suitable maybe after Christmas but the weather may be inclement.

I have no idea what the tubes will be doing, the bus drivers I believe have come to an agreement.

Niobe Thu 03-Nov-22 09:54:04

Yes I’m interested Charleygirl. Happy with either pre or post Xmas meet up.

Witzend Thu 03-Nov-22 09:33:52

Depending on dates - since December is already looking fairly busy - I would.

Charleygirl5 Thu 03-Nov-22 09:27:57

Only 3 of us appear to be interested, loopyloo, ElusiveButterly and myself. Anybody else interested?

Loopyloo are you not in touch with Niobe occasionally? I think she may be interested. I will nudge Bellanonna.

Charleygirl5 Tue 01-Nov-22 21:30:22

I have bumped this up and hopefully others will see it.

Elusivebutterfly Tue 01-Nov-22 14:36:02

I've said before that I would like to join your meet up and would hope to be able to do so this time.
I think there's still time before Christmas to arrange something. After Christmas there's more chance of bad weather and more covid/flu.

loopyloo Tue 01-Nov-22 14:17:50

John Lewis is fine with me and before Christmas?

Charleygirl5 Tue 01-Nov-22 12:27:22

I was having coffee with friends the other day and it dawned on me we had not met up for ages.

Now that Debenhams has inconsiderately closed, what about John Lewis, Oxford Street on the 5th floor? It is handier there if anybody wants a snack for lunch and the loos are close by. The 4th floor is very quiet but it is for coffee only, from memory.

Before or after Christmas- what is the general consensus? I will go with the flow. No anti-vaxxers, please!

sabru Sat 12-Mar-22 15:44:50

I would like to join your Meet Up in Central London. Thanks

Catterygirl Thu 10-Mar-22 17:08:12

Just saying, I didn’t make it to my walking group. We used to meet at the quiet lions gate in Queensway but now at Speakers Corner which is hectic. I couldn’t sleep worrying about it and had to cancel as felt unwell after a bad nights sleep. I guess it will be baby steps for me,

Charleygirl5 Thu 10-Mar-22 09:59:42

It will be lovely to meet up again soon. I am really looking forward to seeing those photos Niobe. The next problem is where do we meet up where we do not need a mortgage to buy a coffee and maybe a snack at lunchtime. How could Debenhams let us down so badly!
