I'm going to be at DD's house near Glasgow 14-23 March and wondered if anyone fancied meeting up then. I've never been to a meet up in Glasgow so maybe if anyone has and knows a good venue they could say where would be good.

Sticking my nose in again. Perhaps, once we have a date, we could start a new thread where everyone can add their name to confirm. It makes it easier to manage.

I am trying to find the list from the last time, to PM people.

There is a lady in Cumbernauld and one in Troon, who expressed an interest before, but I'm sorry to say, I cannot remember their user names. Sorry, brain fog is prevalent at the moment.

Thanks Marydoll it would be lovely to meet you too

Grammaretto Thu 03-Feb-22 19:57:01

Thanks for letting me know Marydoll I would love to join you again. I can't believe it was 2019 Kalu
What fun!

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 20:36:58

Grannmarie and Stilllearning have also expressed an interest.

Of course, childminding duties may complicate matters. grin

Grannmarie Thu 03-Feb-22 21:10:06

Thanks, Bridie and Marydoll, I'd like to join in too, childcare permitting!
The last time I was in the Concert Hall was for the 50th anniversary tour of The Seekers, an absolutely wonderful concert. Happy memories. smile

Hi weenanni?

baubles Fri 04-Feb-22 07:48:14

Trying to narrow it down, I can do the 15th, 16th and 18th. Do any of those dates suit you Bridie?

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 07:57:28

All suit me, if I feel well enough. Its getting exciting now!
I'm happy to collate the names and who can come and when, if you want bridie.

Kalu I suspect if we all went nekkid, we would clear John Lewis, the concert hall and Buchanan galleries in one fell swoop! ?

?????

Kalu Fri 04-Feb-22 08:23:50

We did have a fun day Grammaretto. Looking forward to meeting up with you again and of course, all other Grans.

It would be lovely to meet up with you Miss A and you would be most welcome.

Marydoll

I wonder if the Edinburgh grans have seen this.

We had better check the Café is open for business.

This Edinburgh Gran hadn't seen it, Marydoll, but I'm not socialising or going far on public transport yet anyway, until I have more confidence in not getting CoVid. I don't want it any more than you do.

Have fun, it sounds jolly. Our Edinburgh ones were jolly too, up to a couple of years ago - it seems like past history now. They weren't all in private rooms in posh hotels either - there was the one in the Botanic Gardens after a lovely walk, and the morning coffee in the cafe at the Art gallery on the Mound, where the sniffy boss lady clearly wanted rid of us the minute we had put our cups back in the saucers, so we kept ordering bits and bobs at ten minute intervals and were still there an hour and a half later. Then there were the boozy Burns haggis lunches at various homes.

Enjoy yourselves.

Just checked with Concet hall cafe and it’s open 10-4 Mon to Saturday.
As has been suggested 1pm is a good time so let’s go for it and say the 15th March. It’s a Tuesday. There’s 11 names on my list now. Fingers crossed nothing happens between now and then.

baubles Fri 04-Feb-22 13:17:09

Great stuff, see you all there. smile

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 13:28:22

Once we have a firm date.we usually start a new thread with the date in the title. People can then confirm on that thread that they are coming. It makes it easier to keep tabs on things and how many seats to cover with bags and coats.
Should we do that?

Baggs Fri 04-Feb-22 13:38:57

?

TopsyIrene06 Fri 04-Feb-22 15:30:00

It's on the calendar. I'm the one with the white hair..........

TopsyIrene06 Fri 04-Feb-22 15:55:49

Oh, and I will do a lateral flow test before I meet you all.

Oh, and I will do a lateral flow test before I meet you all.

Great idea for everyone, we tend to be squashed up.

Grammaretto Fri 04-Feb-22 16:17:31

I hope I am on the list. smile bridie

EllanVannin Fri 04-Feb-22 16:29:31

Oh how exciting for you all. The rest of us will expect a running commentary after the meet which will be just as exciting. I love hearing about meet-ups grin

Esspee Fri 04-Feb-22 16:34:38

Hi, I’m out of the country at the moment, scheduled to return to Glasgow early March. (Kind of hoping we will be stranded here in the sun) so you can put me down as a potential participant for now please.

Jangran99 Fri 04-Feb-22 16:48:57

Hello Marydoll and Baggs, all well enough here and it would be wonderful to see you again, and all the lovely Glesca Grannies.
The 15th suits me for a meet.
I have a list of Grans at our last visit to the Concert Hall( and a photie!,) I can send it PM to you Mary.x

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 16:56:15

Jan, bridie is organising, I'm sure she would appreciate a copy.

If you send me the list, I will message those who may not have seen the thread.
