Grans in Shrewsbury area?

There was another thread recently from a poster who wanted to move to Herefordshire then decided on Shropshire I think.

Aldom I think the o sound in Shrewsbury comes from a much earlier spelling with an oe as in Shroewsbury. The oe was joined together. It’s a about an hour from where I live but it’s a lovely town and I visit quite often.

I'm a widower age 80,and moving to Telford soon, does anyone on here around my age group live there
