Hi everyone, shall we try for another meet-up? The Exchange on Broad Street seemed to suit people although the Art Gallery Edwardian Tea Room has now re-opened.
Suggestions of dates welcome, previously it was always a weekday at 11am. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones!

I now have a painful Baker’s cyst and, temporarily I hope, can barely walk.🙄

That's a shame, as I cannot make 17th.

Elrel Sat 05-Sept-26 00:22:13

17th in Symphony Hall there is free music 1pm-2pm by various artists as part of Celebrating Sanctuary. I can do other dates as well.

Gymstagran Thu 27-Aug-26 15:22:49

Im watching to see if dates change. The ones offered are 3-4 weeks away. Ive booked events in the Birmingham heritage week and am awaiting conformation of some.

NannyJan53 Wed 26-Aug-26 14:11:35

Meant cannot do 17th! Can do 23rd.

NannyJan53 Wed 26-Aug-26 08:01:25

I’m interested, depending on dates though.

Elrel Thu 20-Aug-26 01:57:17

September is rapidly approaching. Does anyone want to suggest a date?
September 14-20 is Birminghamļ Heritage Week when various places are open to visitors and some have tours arranged,

Allsorts Thu 06-Aug-26 07:56:05

I never get to one as dates keep changing, Wouldn't it be easier to arrange two weeks before so it’s a definite yes unless something urgent turn up. If I arrange to meet someone it goes on calendar so that date is booked. Then if there are few booked and one drops out it’s not cancelled but maybe they will make next time. I would think even 3/4 people meeting is worthwhile.

Blinko Sun 12-Jul-26 18:52:19

Sorry I only just caught up. Couldn’t have come anyway as I’m not good in this heat. I’ll keep an eye out when temperatures are more normal.

NannyJan53 Wed 08-Jul-26 16:36:06

Yes, I think that is a good idea suggesting a date a week or two before may be the best. We go away 28th September.

Gymstagran Wed 08-Jul-26 10:54:08

In my opinion, we could rethink setting dates. I understand wanting to avoid school holidays but in early Sept many people are on holiday having avoided the school holidays.
Nevertheless, it seems that when we set dates in the future, by the time the date comes around, many have other appointments. Obviously, as well, unplanned things arise.
Does anyone else think its worth trying setting dates with short notice say one or two weeks? I just think people might then have more idea of their plans. Let me know your thoughts, just an idea.

NannyJan53 Wed 08-Jul-26 09:17:37

Perhaps a meeting early September as it will be the Schools 6 weeks holiday soon?

Gymstagran Wed 08-Jul-26 07:02:47

Nice Idea Martav/Taurus but the way the trains were performing, or not performing, yesterday and the promised heat with likely train aircon breakdowns would suggest not

Elrel I was thinking the same and now there would only be two of us so yes lets postpone

Join us at the Exeter meet-up?! 😆
We're low on numbers this time, but we're going ahead.

Elrel Tue 07-Jul-26 23:42:58

As so many can’t make it tomorrow should we postpone the meet-up? Unfortunately a friend has just been discharged from hospital and has asked me to go and see her tomorrow. Sorry this is such late notice that I can’t make it either 🙄

NannyJan53 Tue 07-Jul-26 15:58:30

Sadly I will be unable to make it now, Mum Hearing Aids are not working and she cannot hear at all. So need to go to Spec Savers tomorrow to get this sorted.
