Think about joining the Good Morning thread. They are such a friendly and caring bunch and you will soon feel like you have made some friends.

In my area you can join a community "travelling lunch club".

It has a small bus with a lift that you are picked up in once a month from your house and taken out for lunch. It goes to different places each month within about a half hour journey I think.

I have heard great things about it and would definitely give it a go if I was alone.

There is a charge for the meal and transport but I'd very much recommend you try to find out if there's one near you.

Ours is organised through the local CVS and it's very popular.

They may know if there's a local befriending service for example?

thank you all yes i have seen the hope centre lunches i may have to get community transport which can bump the cost up but i will ask them first as they might have someone else from this estate going

I wonder if you have a local church with activities? Lots have a coffee morning once a week - or a craft group. Maybe someone would even help you get there?
