I'm new to this site and looking for some help if possible. I'm 51 and have been experiencing mild perimenopausal symptoms until this year. I've now had a diagnosis of central sensitization which means my nerves fire off at a lower threshold than they should and I get an itching or burning sensation at times when my particularly my face or neck are touched or irritated. This can be linked to the menopause. I've also started with heat at night (not sweating) that's interrupting my sleep massively and my moods have dropped and I have almost constant anxiety. I've become paranoid about thinning hair, wrinkles, looking old and am generally struggling to put things in perspective. Being stressed and anxious and tired will fuel the central sensitisation so I feel in a catch 22 situation. I've always been in control of my life but now cant control my body! I have HRT estrogen and have progesterone through the mirena coil. My GP isn't that helpful and just wants me to take antidepressants but these will probably make my hair fall out more so no an ideal time to take them! Help!
