I’ve been on HRT for 15 years. GP told me I was too old to be on it at 68 due to risk of stroke. I asked for gel or patches to reduce risk but he would not prescribe. He referred me to NHS menopause clinic and they prescribed patches. If you have problems getting GP to prescribe ask for referral to menopause clinic. I have no intention of stopping HRT.
