I've been on HRT for many years and felt great. I'm 70 now and very active ,dancing running etc. I came off HRT about a year and half ago on advise of my dr. But started to suffer sore elbows, knees and ankle/feet. So I went back on HRT about a month ago. Does anyone know if those pains will go away and how long will I be back on HRT before I feel a difference?

Hi Suzy. Congratulations on being so active. I’m 71 and on HRT patch and although I do quite a lot of walking, swimming (pre-COVID) and use my exercise bike, I wouldn’t say I’m as active as you. Also so pleased your GP agreed for you to go back on HRT again. Some ladies aren’t so lucky with their GPs. Not all aches and pains can be cured by HRT. I have a lot of arthritis which hasn’t ever improved with it and I still get two hot sweats during the night, so it isn’t the magic wand for all ills! I hope that you will be one of the lucky ones and your pains will go away soon.
