Started taking hrt after 5th year menopause as I am still getting hot flushes and low moods. I was given femeston conti 0.5/2.5 mg and have been taking for a month. The only difference I feel is stomach pains .Should I give up as many friends who are on this told me they felt benefits after 2 weeks. Thanks

I would give it a decent chance ,a months not really long enough .If its no better after another month call your GP or Gynaecologist for advice .I've been on HRT for a long time now nearly 15 years and I wouldn't be without it ,but,it took a few trail runs of pills that didn't work before they found the patches that do.Best wishes for a good result for you ,soon

There are many different types of HRT and it may take time to find the right one for you.

Give it time for the oestrogen to build up to therapeutic levels. Your friends may have had higher oestrogen levels to start with. If after a couple of months you are not feeling the benefit then consult your GP would be my suggestion.
