I’ve just had an MRI scan for a back problem and this showed up sonething unexpected in my uterus (trying to stay calm whilst waiting for a gynae appointment) I imagine I’m probably going to need a hysterectomy - I’m post menopause - please can someone send me some gentle positive comments 🙏🏽I’m really scared.

You may not need one.
It depends what they found and alternatives.
Let them know you want to thoroughly discuss the options and risks and make choices then.

It may be something treatable in another way.
...and if not, try to think "it's lucky it was found".

💐Thinking of you.

Could it be fibroids, quite common I think . I had some quite big ones around my uterus around 20 years ago , I'm 60 this year . Hysterectomy was the only solution, I hope you don't have too long a wait for your appointment

Your medical appointment will be soon.
Write down a list of questions to have ready to ask.

Try not to over worry about things just now.

I had the same problem when I was 47 and the hysterectomy was straight forward and I felt so much better after recovering. Good luck.

It’s possibly the case that if you do need a hysterectomy it could be done by keyhole surgery. So not the big operation it used to be.
But, as others have said, try not to worry and wait and see what is actually needed.
