Cooling pillow?

I use a satin pillow case over a cooling pillow. It seems to work for me. Dunelm didn’t have any bamboo sheets in when I went so I purchased some of their cooling sheets. They seem to work too. Bedroom door and small window slightly open too. Oh, and separate bed to hubby. 🤣

Did anyone find a good pillow to rcommend that's cooling?

I swear by a wet flannel by the bed it's been a life saver for me you can shake it out and it cools back down instantly place it anywhere you need it. I also use a satin pillowcase as I was sweating through my head n neck alot it's really helped if you can afford real silk even better

I use the dogs cool mat when I overheat.

There a difference though between being cool in bed and suffering from hot flushes. I use all cotton, keep the window open, have a coiled spring rather than latex mattresss etc., but hot flushes radiate from within you, it’s not to do with how cool you are to start with.

I bought two new pillows today here in France because the square French ones on the bed were driving me mad. I had a long chat with the sakes assistant who showed me bamboo ones which not only felt nice in themselves, but also apparently circulate the air better and are cooler.

I think cooling products may be counter-productive although I've never used them.

I stick to pure cotton bedding washed weekly and have invested in a bamboo pillow (panda) which has made a great difference.

Keep your bedroom door open and the window slightly too to allow the free flow of air.

I'm long past the menopause but still sweat a lot at night!

I pretty much sailed through the menopause but as a preventative measure changed all bedding to natural fibres i.e. no polyester etc

Pure cotton covered wool topper on mattress, cotton bedding, wool winter duvet and silk summer duvet. Pillows are cotton cover wool filling and I top mine with a silk pillowslip which is cooling and smoothing on face and hair.

Bedroom temperature is never higher than 16 degrees with window on trickle vent all year except in very high winds.

I think I must be different. I started the menopause when I was 41 years old, I never had a hot flush or anything whatsoever, all I knew was that my periods had stopped. My mum, years before, was the same, she was 37 when she started the menopause and also never had any problems at all. In fact in both my case and my mother's, the GP's thought we were pregnant and could not understand why we never had symptoms.

There are lots of gel cooling mats on Amazon and Ebay. They can be inserted into the pillow case. I still have night sweats at nearly 78, so I have a row of these mats down the edge of my bed so that I can reach out a leg, arm or foot during the night. They do warm up with prolonged contact but otherwise bliss!!

I use a dog cooling mat, large size folded over in a pillowcase and put it on top of my normal pillow. If it’s a really hot day I put it in the fridge, and it’s very effective, I’ve found it better and cheaper than a Chillow because it’s bigger and you can turn it over.

I keep meaning to try the Chillow cooling pillows, I suggested to a friend - who enthused about it.

Natural buckwheat pillows are great. Plus, you can push them into any shape that you like to make them comfortable. We bought ours from Razzmatazz (other retailers are available!). The pillows aren't cheap, but they last for years!
