T.V advertisment's Ahhhhhhh

The trouble with the 'good plays' is that they are always on at times when it is not all that convenient to watch. We recorded the afternoon play which we thoroughly enjoyed, but would have preferred it to have been on in the evening, probably in place of Waterloo Road (DON'T GET ME STARTED EITHER!). I like to go to bed at about 10.30, so have to record anything good after that, and in the afternoon I am quite often playing bowls - hence the early night!

PRINTMISS I watched the play "One Night" also i found it very good after I got used to the replaying of previous scenes.There have been some good plays/dramas on BBC2 recently.

PRITMISS ...yes I really enjoyed that play last week. I also recorded the BBC 2.15pm dramas last week and the two I have watched were very good.
We mainly watch BBC 2 in the afternoons but like to watch Emmerdale and Corrie ...those 2 women on the 'Sponsor' ads of Corrie drive me mad !! Certainly wouldn't encourage me to buy any of their furniture !!!
Far too many 'Bingo' and gambling ads.
....and dont get me started on 'Go Compare' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adverts are the time to put the kettle on (I've heard that this is the cue for a rise in demand for electricity) or to go to the loo. If I don't have either of these urges, I pick up the laptop and check up on the doings on Gransnet, of course.

We have the simple answer to adverts - we do not watch advertising programmes, but record them, that way you can fast forward all the trashy things. BBC seems to spend as much time advertising their own programmes these days, though, but at least they are not embarrassing or stomach churning. (or are they?)
Incidentally, did anyone watch 'One Day' on BBC1, I thought it was a very moving play.

The one I dislike the most is the ad for the Irish Lottery where the coloured man does the robotic dance and towards the end of the dance has the most apalling rictus grin. It drives me mad!!

I always seem to walk into a room when the adverts are on showing those horrible green gremlins running around a toilet bowl ? My favourite at the moment is Martin Clunes on the motorbike with "Churchill" in the side car brilliant even though it is selling insurance.

Classic FM and the bowel cancer ad when I am eating a meal.

The most embarrassing and annoying got to be the various tampons and pads...what's the need to show us close up shots of such an item? And don't they go on and on about it!

The adverts I dislike are-
Martine McCutcheon's TLC yoghurt.
The shouty double glazing ones.
Accident compensation ones.
Products reducing the appearance of wrinkles ( not the actual wrinkles though!).
Because I'm worth it.

I am sure I shall think of loads more!

Suggestion: turn the TV off while you are eating. If it's something you can't miss, perhaps record it.
