For Newsnight: should we end universal benefits for better off pensioners?

I'm glad so many of you do like Norfolk. It's difficult for me to compare as I've only ever lived here. You need to be careful though if you stay here for more than about ten years, you'll find newcomers will take you as a native - except if you're Scots.

Definitely not slow when doing a deal and money is changing hands,I have noticed a rapid improvement in seconds ..especially when hearing a cockney accent..

Normal for Norfolk is also because we like to dew diffrunt an we int as slow as wha' we meak owt t' be. An thas a blooda gud thing tha' all them ther furriners ar a comin here cos thas a dilewtin tha there interbreedin an all what people ar allus on abowt an shearkin us up a bi'.

* greatnan* I wasnt aware of this for the Pakistani/ Bangladeshi community,but there is a saying that any deficiency is written "NFN" which translates as Normal for Norfolk,I have read an article about this concerning a family going to their GP for some problem or other,and one of the family was a little bit slow and this was recorded on their notes,and it seems to be recognised as a condition peculiar to Norfolk and also the Fens...who I have heard being referred to as Fenbillies..

I don't know about Norfolk, nellie - it could just be nasty rumours put about by people in Suffolk - but there is certainly an increased risk of congenital abnormalities in the children of close relatives. This has been a source of some concern amongst those medical professionals dealing with the Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities in Britain.

I am an incomer,but I love Norfolk,beautiful part of the world,I love the accent and find myself picking up not so much the accent but the phraseology,and it comes out in a cockney accent,therefore am a new breed I am a Nockney

When I read The Wind in the Willows to the boys, somehow I always found it appropriate to read the Mole's words in a Norfolk accent!

My beloved nan grew up in Norfolk and I've loved the accent ever since.

I spent two of the happiest years of my life in Norfolk. Had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the Fens

I had good friends in Norfolk, but admittedly they were all in-comers, as were we.

I would never go back to Norfolk , the people are soooo parochial it beggars belief , okay for a holiday , but to live there , give me a break .,

absent, in reply to your earlier post suggesting that anyone making allegations of unfairness etc. on GN should cite their references - that would not be possible without revealing the identity of the member being accused. It seems that GNHQ are quite happy with veiled references, but not out and out naming and blaming!
