Big Ben to ring in the Olympics.

Meant to go outside and ring the doorbell and a tiny brass bell inherited from MIL but slept in and woke at almost 9 am. I don't think anyone else in the street was ringing anything or it would have woken me up.

I would have known nothing about it if it had not been for GN.

I hope it's not going to rain for the ceremony. It's come over a bit dark and there are a few little spits and spots. (wrings hands with worry)

Not that I'm actually in London. But it's not far away.

It looked (on the t.v) as if all those taking part were enjoying themselves, and at this time that is important, let's all hope that the Olympics proves a great success for GREAT BRITAIN, it's about time we got our act together, and proved we can do it (I might regret that in 2 weeks time but I live in hope)

I got out our old school bell ready to join in, turned down breakfast tv so I could hear properly and heard precisely nothing, so put the bell away again. Felt quite thwarted

I don't think it was very well advertised. I only knew about it from good old GN

Rang our victorian school bell ( it's very loud) in solitary state. not a soul joined us or even seemed to notice. No church bells, either. Never mind.

That'll be all that training on the exercise bike soop. See, it's paying off!

jings I got one of those yesterday. Threw the car door open with too much muscle and it hit the corner of a wall. The look was all that was required...

Being canny, I sent Mr soop outside [in his jimjams] and he rang our doorbell three times...the tune - 'when you are in love'...I was sitting in bed and drinking tea. Rory quite liked it all. He was treated to an extra portion of Tesco's finest feline fodder.

Glass so long as they enjoyed it, who cares!

Not so much a tiny ting i my town.

About 60/70 people in the church yard this morning...we made a real noise with an amazing range of bells! Quite a few children there who jingled like mad bless them!

jingle my ears are still ringing so they well have been hanging out of their bedroom windows scowling at the ringing

Well, I stuck my head out of the bedrom window. No bells ringing round here.

Boris Johnson was getting very excited on the Today programme though.

Had great fun ringing my brass lady bell that belonged to my Grandma....I couldn't hear any other bells in our village, not even the church bells.
