Olympic Auction - beds

There are many children in this country who do not have a bed, I would like to see the Olympic beds given to families who need them rather than them being auctioned off. Can anyone help further with this, can the might of Gransnet help?
I have today started a twitter campaign and put this onto Facebook but feel I have very limited resources.
Can we do something?
Any comments would be much appreciated.

Yes, unfortunately it may be too late, but I will keep trying. I only heard about the auction today and just thought those beds could go to good use.

I think I heard all the money raised is going to charity so I don't think it is a bad thing. Perhaps wait and see you might be happy with the outcome.
